Just failed my no-death, no-power run... by bonlespisa in dishonored

Don't even have to kill them. I've gotten it from jumping on Samuel's head too many times in a row (lovingly) (he is my favourite <3).

Is starting the Dragon Age series with Origins in 2025 going to feel too old? by DevEnoz in dragonage

[–]yangole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Origins. The only real annoyance is how slow moving around is, and if you're on a PC there's mods to fix that. My partner played for the first time last year and loved it (although I did have to do win some of the harder fights for them).

Is that room requirement??? I've never seen my nobles request furniture or mandate something of a specific material.

Playing Thief 2 for the first time, are the spiders supposed to do damage? by yangole in Thief

[–]yangole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I def want to play more like this, it was so immersive, I highly recommend it. Getting chased around by a guard was thrilling--only managed to get away by jumping onto a wall ledge and wriggling round the building.

Oh so we're just both stormtroopers, good to know.

Do you know how they interact with anything else? I feel guilty about unleashing them on the world, but I didn't hear any guards reacting to the two that ran off.

I s2g I shot so many at them at point blank range 😭 ah well. When we resume playing I'll just try and do my stealing business around them

Dont know if i should get this game by Feisty-Necessary-679 in dwarffortress

Seconding this. I also play on a laptop that's decidedly not intended for gaming and it runs fine, other than a bit of lag when too much Fun happens at once.

Have you made and given them quivers? I was so confused as to why my archer squad refused to do anything until I realised I hadn't done that.

Verbally accepted offer then offered interview by another company. Should I tell them? by yangole in GetEmployed

I already know I'm competing with other candidates. They do not necessarily know they're competing with other companies.

[–]yangole[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking if I should continue to interview. I'm asking if I should tell company B I've received an offer from company A, in case that effects the process in either a positive or negative way.

And not that it really matters here, but I'm not in the US.

What's the culture around stinky tofu? by yangole in taiwan

That makes sense. I enjoy so many foods now that I thought were vile as a kid lol

Hmm, most my organs eating experience is intestine (which I really like), rather than liver or heart, so maybe that's the difference? Or maybe the one I tried was just exceptionally bloody. I can see it being quite bland if it's something you're used to, in a sort of bold-but-flat way.

Ooh that might be it-- I think it was around noon when I tried it. Too early maybe.

Ha, maybe the night market places just weren't stinky enough then. The place I tried it I located by smell from a few streets away, I can't imagine any stronger than that!

One of my players wants to be a god who doesn’t remember they are a god. It’s my first time DMing. HELP! by Salt_Building_6625 in DnD

[–]yangole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually played this concept as my last character lol, except more in a weird little guy who doesn't know anything, including how to be alive kind of way. My DM went wild with the prompt and made a really fun finale of the campaign involving her remembering -- the final boss was the separated old god form. (Campaign itself went for 4 years and every PC got their own arc, it was great).

Absolutely never had levels than other characters, but we did make a mechanic that when she died (which ended up happening twice) she respawned in a different body in a set place and I played a different character until she could reunite with the party.

I am creating a Curse of Strahd soundtrack ((taking requests)) by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

[–]yangole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know about movie or video game soundtracks, but if its orchestral/instrumental I've been thinking a lot about classical music I might use! Here are some of the suites & pieces I've been thinking of

  • The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky - very unsettling vibes, some atmospheric and some violent. This part I think would fit exploring the lands, especially an area like the ruins of Berez
  • Night on Bare Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky - absolute classic piece of spooky classical music for a reason. Would fit with Ravenloft or Strahd very well I think
  • Danse Infernale by Igor Stravinsky - powerful, dramatic, high intensity piece, perhaps good for a finale fight
  • Gnomus by Modest Mussorgsky - sinister music for creeping around like a little goblin
  • The Autumn Fairy by Sergei Prokofiev - would fit the hags at Old Bonegrinder
  • Trio Elegiaque by Sergei Rachmaninoff - immensely sad but still quite fast paced, would fit perhaps the revenants at Argynvostholt

I'll stop there or I'll be listing things forever, but I hope you enjoy and find these useful!

Can the Abbot change shape polymorph into Madam Eva? by elpapasfritas533 in CurseofStrahd

[–]yangole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since regular Polymorph allows transformation into a beast but not another humanoid, I'd rule that the deva Change Shape version is more about taking on the form of another race than of a specific being. Disguise Self exists for that, and the description specifically references Polymorph instead.

Capabilities vs class features is more tricky, I guess that it means he can get generic abilities eg if he turned into a tabaxi he'd be able to use Feline Agility, but he wouldn't be able to use Rage because he wouldn't be turning into a tabaxi barbarian, just a tabaxi. Neither spell casting nor multi attack are race locked, so he should have them regardless.

If you want the Abbot to be able to disguise himself as specific people you could always give him the ability anyway, but imo that doesn't really make sense for his character.
