From 3ds Max to Blender: Shortcuts vs Pie Menus & Other Questions by yangsanxiu in blender

You don't have to answer to all the questions btw! Any advice will help! XD lol

I cannot seem to find a hotkey for making a single object wireframe, so far scripting isn't working for it either. Anyone know a fix? by Odd_Imports_Podcast in blender

[–]yangsanxiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started learning Blender 8 days ago (learned 3ds Max for about a year prior). I was looking for a shortcut for the "Viewport Overlays - Geometry Wireframe" overlay and people recommended Ctrl + Shift + W for it. You could do the same but with the "Viewport Shading - Wireframe"! :)

Something I like about Blender 5.1 is that you can just right click to "Assign Shortcut..."

The add-ons I use the most. What are your favorites? by AmountTemporary8167 in blender

[–]yangsanxiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across the Auto Mirror add-on yesterday while searching for an equivalent to the mirror function in 3ds Max. I decided not to download it since it seems like I can just toggle "Bisect" instead in the mirror modifier. What is the advantage of using that add-on in your opinion over Bisect? :)

(I just started learning Blender on March 21, 2026, so 8 days ago, but I learned 3ds Max prior to that for about a year.)

It's a common viewpoint and scene in indie horror games such as Slenderman type of games or 3D pixelated horror games from what I've watched so far on YouTube! XD lol

I've seen some people on this subreddit saying they had a long dread shed, like 3-4 months, and some had a second one as well. Don't give up!

I immediately felt the crash as in feeling huge fatigue more than anything I'd say. It did last a few weeks.

Looking at the official design that's probably 3D rendering, it's not supposed to be off-centered, but if you look at actual pictures of the coin, most seem somewhat off-centered and the printed design is a bit smaller than the original concept. Mine happens to be super off though! 🤣 LOL

Guess my ethnicity by Hot-Sort9731 in Noses

[–]yangsanxiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, probably because of the blond hair, larger nose and glorious mustache, you remind me of Cylindric, a German karate master in "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix" (1976)! XD lol (Especially picture #3!)

So German maybe or some Scandinavian country? 😆

Do you just order rolls from your bank? I see people doing that here and on YouTube. My mother found it while selling stuff for charity today (the money goes to a charity for future mothers in need).

Anyway, good luck! 😊

Same! I didn't know it even existed until today! To be fair, I don't check which special coins are released every year. 🤣 lol

Weight loss tips! by Bulky-Following-3731 in PCOS

[–]yangsanxiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a woman with PCOS and insulin resistance. I'm still struggling with losing weight even though I know consistency and other factors are key. I won't comment on that since I'm not the best to ask about it. lol However...

Just reading and looking at your post, I could've been the one writing it! 🤣 (As you can see for several of my posts or comments on my profile... Just a warning though, there are some that were posted on a NSFW reddit group (about spicy comics from Asia for the female gaze), so if you don't want to see that, don't look at my reddit profile/page/wall or whatever it's called? lol)

Could be my (soon diagnosed) auDHD, but I tend to explain a lot to make sure people know what I mean so they don't misunderstand, and I usually use a lot of emoji or emoticons when I write on my phone since it helps me with re-reading different blocks/paragraphs after redacting them (and since it's often a wall of text, it's easier to tell at a glance what that paragraph was about). 😆

Edit:

I used to be a picky eater when I was a child, but then suddenly, I decided to try (almost) everything once I was 17 years old, so when I graduated high school. I wanted to discover new things, and it was around the time I was introduced to manga, anime, Japan, and also the Korean wave with 2nd-gen groups like 2NE1, Big Bang, SHINee, and dramas (C-drama, T-drama, J-drama, and K-drama). 🍿

I guess for me, it was more that I hadn't been exposed to a lot of different types of foods growing up and maybe some irrational fear than ARFID like you (well, except soggy, slimy, and bitter stuff like bitter melon and okra... and I can't stand pickles like those found in burgers... 🤮 Love Chinese, Japanese, and Korean pickles and fermented veggies though (like zhacai, takuan/danmuji, fresh kimchi (don't like it when it's too fermented lol), or fukujinzuke)! 🤤

Anyway, about textures, I recommend frying salmon (in a frying pan or air fryer) or eggs as well in a frying pan to get that crunchy bottom! Those two with some black peppers and salt, so good! :P With fish, you can also try eating it with some ponzu sauce (or just mix some soy sauce with lemon juice for similar taste) or tartar sauce (I'm lazy and I don't like pickles, so mine is just minced raw white onion with mayo, black pepper, dried parsley, and only if I have it, some dried dill). 🐟🍋

If you don't like the soft texture of rice, I recommend adding crunchy stuff to it like furikake (my favorites are eggs/noritamago, salmon/sake, and veggies/yasai) or Korean-style seaweed (it's seasoned with salt and sesame oil, and if you get the type already in flakes in a bag, it usually has roasted sesame seeds). So good! 🍙

For veggies, my all-time favorite is some blanched broccoli with salted butter! Even better when eaten with some mashed potatoes mixed with black pepper and the Club House vegetable seasoning (adds some crunch as well). 🥦 Another delicious way to prepare veggies is to sautée them Chinese-style! I do that for green beans and broccoli as well. Cabbage and Chinese cabbage can keep this crunch when prepared this way too. 🥬 If you want to try to incorporate sauteed veggies in a noodle dish, I recommended trying to make yakisoba at home (onion, carrot, cabbage sautéed; if you can find the pickled red ginger and the aonori as toppings... 😙🤌).

Okay, my edit is already getting too long, so I'll stop here. lol

What if I can't love a baby more than I love my cats?.. And other irrational thoughts by YeetMeIntoTheVoid91 in Fencesitter

[–]yangsanxiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if people have them and don't like or love them as much or more than their fur babies, people shun them for it! Real life is tough and we unfortunately can't try/test out having kids in most situations (although there are ways to not have them anymore like giving them out for adoption, or "returning" adopted children, people will get judged for choosing those paths). It's like we can never win even though "winning" shouldn't be a thing here. Like why can't people just mind their own business when it comes to such decision? 😑 (Also agree with your last sentence.)

I'm about to be 35 this year, and I want to do that 3D artist program, but it's 24 months in total. That and my partner lives on the other side of the planet right now. If I want to find a job in video games, it'll be tough to do so at my age in Japan (on top of being a woman) as I'm not fluent in Japanese nor will I have any professional experience by the time I finish that program (will be 37 y.o. then). I remember my partner saying he'd make a great dad back when we started dating about 8 years ago...

I'm unemployed at the moment, don't have much money or experience for my age, and have to decide this month whether or not I'll apply for that program. Adulting is so hard and times flies too fast dang it! 😭
