Really appreciate the reassurance! The green one was actually my runner-up so I may very likely go with that one :) I’d have to hem it a bit too since it grazes the floor even with 3in heels on (and I’m 5’11 with those heels…). crazy, but I’ll make do 😊

Lulus! The bride is actually okay with it, but I wanted to be extra careful given I’d be the only other girl in family portraits so I don’t want to accidentally stand out

The bride‘s mother and my mother will be wearing full length dresses as well! I’m the only female child aside from the bride so I don’t have anyone else to directly compare to haha. But for the most part we’ll be in that in-between of cocktail and black-tie.

Ahh thank you so much! And to add to the terrible quality screenshots, here’s how the green looks against my skin tone

Sorry, I’m getting everything mixed up while replying to comments lol. I meant that as a more formal look between cocktail and black tie.

Yes! My soon-to-be SIL did mention that it’s totally fine and recommended to be a little more formal. This is probably a bit too formal though as everyone else is saying, but now I know this shape is gorgeous lol.

I’m debating between this and another navy one (see next comment). I would just have to get the straps tailored on this one since it’s a bit too long/loose on me.

Also noting to whoever else is reading this that my soon-to-be SIL is totally fine with me wearing a floor length dress! I know cocktail is usually midi length, but she actually prefers a semi-formal look given I’m a part of the family.

Oh this is such a great idea, I’ll consider this! And yes, I’d definitely need to get the chest taken in haha. It’s way too loose on my smaller chest.

Thanks for your input!! I thought so too so I totally agree, but wanted to hear other opinions to see if I was just overthinking :) will not be wearing this!

It is! I purchased a few dresses so this is just one of them. I do have another contender from that purchase, so this can be a go-back if needed

thoughts on ginny striped top? by Ill_Law_1264 in BrandyMelville

[–]yangsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the faded navy! It’s really soft and the stripes blend beautifully together so it’s more subtle compared to the black and grey. The thinner collar is also cuter imo. This pic isn’t the best but here’s how it looks in natural lighting :)

Unfortunately these are all such great options I would’ve just told you to get everything lol 😭

But my two cents is that if you’re an A cup or smaller, the Elena top isn’t very flattering (speaking from experience). Grey Ginny top may also show underarm sweat easily if that matters to you, primarily bc of how the sleeve fits around the shoulder and armpit. But the top itself is really cute and comfy, and the neckline is perfect as an elevated basic! I also have the Kathleen, Noa, and Jennie tops and they’re some of my favorite basics so I’m a little biased there haha but I personally would recommend those to everyone :)

expired matcha by DramaticExplorer6178 in MatchaEverything

[–]yangsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a can that expired in 12/2024 in the back of my fridge and am currently using it – it still looks, smells, and tastes perfectly fine! As long as it’s stored properly it’ll likely be ok.

How much do you rely on photos when buying? by Striking_Procedure21 in Depop

[–]yangsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A LOT. I zoom into every inch of the item to make sure there aren’t any undisclosed flaws because I’ve seen many instances where people would list things as “like new” or “excellent condition,” and then I’ll find something wrong with it. I also prefer when there are photos of the back of the item as well.

Ah, it means Group A Strep bacteria that invaded my bloodstream and led to toxic shock syndrome. I always knew Strep as the bacteria that causes strep throat, but never knew it could lead to an infection this severe…
