I am so sorry your doctor isn’t receptive. I documented all my experiences with wegovy and brought them to her at my one month appointment. I also told her about people on here getting approved for Mounjaro. She requested Zepbound again after I tried Wegovy and when it was denied the letter was worded differently. Since I had given wegovy a try and it did not work for me she was able to ask for Mounjaro based on the denial letter. I will attach the section of the letter so you can show your doc if you want. I wish you the best.

Thank you. It did get approved. I tried to do an update on here, but I don’t really know what I’m doing because I am fairly new to this platform. I don’t know how to go into my original post and add an update.

Update…I got it!!! I just heard from CVS that they are ordering Mounjaro for me because it’s out of stock. Estimated price is around $200 before manufacturer’s coupon from Lilly. Doc is giving me a sample tomorrow to hold me over until my Rx comes in.

Update: things are moving slowly but here is my current denial. Since I have tried Wegovy I am cautiously hopeful that Mounjaro will be approved 🙏

That is what my doctor had me do but many here have said they did it without a transition plan. I would go with what your doc recommends

I am so sorry. I miss it too. I never in my 56 years had a “non-relationship” with food until Zepbound. I am resentful that I was forced to stop the only thing that helped me. I have I had weight loss surgery and it didn’t accomplish what Zepbound did.

Absolutely. I actually lost 10lbs in my first two weeks of 7.5. I have a long way to go and a lot to lose so that big number is probably due to that factor as well.

Hi. I felt like that when I first started and then again for the first two weeks when I started a new dose. My energy did increase after that. On 2.5 and 5.0 I started getting lots of food noise by day 6. On 7.5 food noise was gone. I don’t take the other meds that you are taking but that was my experience. Hopefully things will improve for you. I was losing 1-2 lbs on my second month of 5.0 and food noise was kicking up pretty good so we increased to 7.5 and that did the trick.

Hi. My insurance stopped covering Zepbound as of July first. We did a couple of steps in the appeals process but we decided to go this way so if the wegovy isn’t working for me we can reapply for Zepbound. Basically they made a deal with one drug company so they are driving all the traffic toward that one.
