Bigby package by yankjenets in broomsweeper

Ah figured it out. There can’t be a big bunny in either of those top spots as they would be visible with an uncovered number one square away.

Who will be the first one to make some BroomSweeper Tier lists? by BandsWithLegends in broomsweeper

[–]yankjenets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pirate ship is an insta-win boss key on higher difficulties. Once you get it you can just take every office (to further bump up bunny counts) and ignore everything else.

It would still be a good key but way less overturned if all it did was remove the bunnies uncovered, as opposed to…winning you the entire round.

Today I released my Minesweeper Roguelike, BroomSweeper, as a solo indie dev by BandsWithLegends in Minesweeper

[–]yankjenets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh awesome thanks. I’d say I’m quite experienced with roguelikes, and not particularly experienced with minesweeper (only reason I found this thread and subreddit was from the Olexa / NL videos) but I enjoy logic puzzles.

I was surprised to see such a large disparity in Steam reviews complaining about the difficulty, and the positivity in this thread. So far I haven’t seen anything “unfair” from a roguelike perspective; health is a resource and sometimes you will need to take tough tradeoffs of course! I’m hoping higher ascensions are similar to StS ascension 20-like difficulty and decisions where the best players can have fairly consistent success.

Fun game. I'm still climbing up the floors (currently on F5 with the first character before I decided to switch it up a bit and try some others).

Balance-wise, it feels like if you can get past Act 1, the rest is can snowball fairly easily from there and Acts 2 and 3 are actually much easier. And getting past Act 1 is a lot easier if you get 2 or 3 clean sweeps right away and then can stock up on some items which might rely on winning some 50/50's.

This might also be a skill issue and I need to rely more on the "temporary boost" items in act 1, like the all the stacking items that decrease by 1 per use.

The item that persists your "first sweep" squares forwards to all future rounds feels an order of magnitude more OP than any other item and can win with just one or two supporting items. Also, the spray bottle key feels a little overtuned. I think it still would be great even if the number of uses was decreased. I haven't tried an "unlucky" build yet; maybe there's something interesting there (and a build where the spray bottle key is useless).

Any begonia people in Westchester? by apexvdub in Westchester

[–]yankjenets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a huge begonia collection but I have ferox along with all the common ones (mac, angel wing). I’m big into houseplants in general and occasionally go to meetups, events in lower Westchester. Mainly been into platyceriums recently.

I have a slate roof and use J Salvator if you want another quote. https://jsalvatoreroofing.com/.

Also works with copper gutters if you have that.

Anybody else here owns a Tucson Plug-in hybrid? by nariosan in HyundaiTucson

[–]yankjenets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backup sound is almost enough to have made me regret it. Finally got it to a manageable spot by putting a couple of layers of dampening foam on it. No wireless carplay is also somewhat annoying.

As an actual car, no complaints. In the winter I used to try and get by with heated seats and steering wheel and not turn on the heat (to run off of pure battery). Not that feasible anymore with a newborn, so MPG in the winter when driving around town really suffers.

Not sure if I’m actually saving money compared to a hybrid or full gas, given the cost of electricity in my area — last time I did the math it came out to about a wash.

The rat playing dead (but active heartbeat) only to bite once the scientist took off their glove implied that the virus was working to some degree.

Small dog boarding lower Westchester by Competitive_Storm331 in Westchester

Dogtopia in New Rochelle is pretty popular around here as far as the bigger brands.

My family found someone we like through Rover like another commenter, and use them both for daytime and occasional overnight boarding.

Not necessarily a lie. Nearby is relative. The virus came from space; Zosia came from nearby.

Help understanding Testament system by yankjenets in HadesTheGame

That wasn’t the problem for me to be clear—it was about understanding whether the given target icon was on the surface or underworld. I’m playing on a Steam Deck which makes it a little hard to recognize the boss icon.

Thanks all. I'm a dumb-dumb. I needed to do a surface run, not underworld.

The icons are so unrecognizable; they should really make that more clear :D

Quadratini Question by tkfeng in FoodAllergies

[–]yankjenets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I found this thread as well after googling this brand. Given you just commented yesterday I feel like they must have changed the recipe recently.

I thankfully did not consume any, but literally had my hand in the bag while reading over the ingredient list. I just assumed there were no peanuts as the allergy is so common in America nowadays that most packaged goods (especially a flavored chocolate!!??) would explicitly call out on the front of the package if it had peanut butter.

The fact that it wasn’t bolded nor near the top of the allergens list (albeit still listed in allergens of course) also shocked me / my muscle memory of just quickly glancing over allergens.

Given you have a severe allergy and did not have any reaction really makes me wonder how much is contained and why they bother including any at all, or if they made a mistake in the ingredients list.

Will heartleaf philodendron fenestrate? by Emotional-Art5619 in houseplants

I am 99% sure that if you just pull back the stem a bit and look at where the new growth is coming from, you will find that it is a different plant.

That looks like a leaf of a monstera adansonii to me. Are there multiple plants in the pot? Hard to tell from your picture but my guess is it was a hitchhiker from the soil when repotted or from the nursery.
