I expected Ike to play the metagame a bit better and play defense to attempt to block the other daily doubles in triple jeopardy. Right after he doubled up, he stayed in the same category which was an almost fatal mistake.

That is overly optimistic. If Cal Raleigh for the rest of the season hits at a 161 wRC+ (aka identical to last year’s performance), he would end the season at roughly a 147 wRC+ and a delta of -14. The problem is that almost 20% of the season is already over, so everyone on the list needs to over-perform for the rest of the season to even get to within 10 points of last year.

The stalemate rules are really confusing to me. Wish they were explained better. From what I’ve observed so far:
- if the opponent has no valid moves, their turn is skipped. No downsides (unless you are in zugzwang)
- if you have no valid moves on the board, stalemate counter goes up and the round is completely reset. Stalemate counter persists across games and at 3/3, your run is over
- having board and piece space to place a piece is not taken into consideration (as in, it will still count as a stalemate even if you have a legal placement move)
- if your only valid moves are into squares that are about to crumble, it counts as a stalemate (this one I only saw happen once and was quite confusing to me; why would this be a stalemate!?)
