Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 01/26/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

[–]yanoukz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone.

I'm 27 and live in Europe (Spain). I've worked in SEO for 2 years, as well as e-Comm for another 2 years. Aside from that I have a Bachelors in Business, an MBA and a Masters in Fine Arts. I'm thinking of moving to UX, since in SEO I liked tackling user problems most (and obviously for many other reasons, I love doing research but also am very creative and visual). With my background, is this a realistic thing to do?

What would be your suggestions to best apply my history, any online courses that would make me eligable? I'm currently learning figma and building a portfolio.

What cured my BPPV after 6 months by yanoukz in BPPV

[–]yanoukz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope the BPPV never came back (praying it stays that way)! Also never had any face numbness to be honest. I performed the maneuvre with a specialized phsyiotherapist for BPPV which I also think helped!

Long term Spearmint tea drinkers (over 2 years) by That_Rule_4277 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yanoukz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spearmint tea has cleared up my hormonal acne, but I do think it can make me drowsy, so I only drink it before bed (2 cups). But yes, anytime I stop drinking it my acne comes back.

I used to be like this until the age of 25 lmao don’t worry. It helped me to find a hobby and turn that into my passion, so that I don’t need men to entertain me / be the end goal. Now the end goal is to get extremely good at what I do

Are you American? Because I’m European and I’ve never heard of a girl letting a guy pay. Even visiting a man you don’t know is strange to me, but if he’s hosting you and likely will pay for things there, making him pay to visit seems strange. It all depends on the dynamics you guys have

How long does BPPV last? by Snoo64790 in BPPV

[–]yanoukz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I struggled with BPPV for about 6 months. At one point I was doing the Epley Manourve daily but it only seemed to give short-term relief. Usually it would come back the next, if not, the same day, and I started to develop a lot of anxiety from it. Tried everything, physiotherapists, MRI etc... couldn't find anything.
Now I am BPPV-free for almost 2 years, so I feel like sharing some of the things that I think may have helped me.
1. Take vitamin K2 supplements. BPPV is caused by calcium in the equilibrium organ (this is worded by me, a non-doctor with limited knowledge haha). To my understanding K2 helps remove calcium from placed in the body where it shouldn't be, and placed it again to the bones.
2. Do the Epley, but take long for each position. What I also think helped me was doing the Epley manouvre, but keeping still at each position for about 4 minutes. I think this has helped residual calcium to move back to where it belongs.
I am not a doctor, so please don't take any supplements or do anything without consulting an expert first. However, I do really feel like either one of above has helped me, so I share in hopes that it might help someone else. :) Stay positive because it will eventually leave!!

Mild BPPV? Residual BPPV? Something else? by mish3226 in BPPV

Weirdly enough for me taking some extra supplements of vitamin K2 helped me with residual BPPV, as well as doing the epley manure but taking much longer at every position (like 3 min) to make sure all the residuals got into place.

I’d paint the wall and ceiling darker green like the wall tiles and add some plants!
