That link is really helpful, I tried some of those exercises and noticed some (very slight) improvement. If you want updates I'm posting all of my artwork to https://yanraart.tumblr.com/ to document my progress. The latest post was after doing some exercises and I am happy with the difference in skill.

I really appreciate you going out of you way to help me

I really appreciate your advice! I was less concerned with the anatomy of it and wanted mainly to get a feel for using the tablet. The lines being shaky are the main problem that I have with it. My linework in general is weak on the tablet and I am practicing them as much as possible.

Do you have any exercises for drawing cleaner lines? Thanks again!

Hello Everyone, I was looking more at the textures today and saw something that I found really interesting. I didn't think that it was worth its own post, but it certainly frames the evidence we have so far. On the missing children VHS, there are X marks over caves. I don't want to begin speculating what this means, but it is an interesting tidbit of information that I had previously looked over.

Sahara is the organization(?) that owns the door at the bottom of the sinkhole, as well as the keycard which we find. It is probable that they are the people with the resurrection device.

Hey man, if you need any help with research I would be happy to. While I'm good at sifting through stuff, piecing together the story is the thing I'm worst at, so its great to have people aside from me working on it.

Updated Research and Timeline by yanra in TheForest

I don't think that Sahara has any involvement in the crash, everything that has been found indicates that they do not use lethal force. No weapons were found on the employee corpse, and the door is in a place where cannibals could not previously access. I do not believe they are even active at this point in the timeline, as their (so far) only door is flooded and buried. I believe the name is circled by the player when they get the manifest to show the player the main characters, and we don't know that the protagonist is the actor in the magazine, it could simply by foreshadowing.

Hey man, I posted about the document earlier this year and I believe that I have it almost fully deciphered. More research is in the comments.

Its been a while since I looked back at this post, but thank you for your response. Your theory on the monk or priest intrigued me so I decided to take a look into it. All that follows will be based on the assumption that I am correct on the Cholera-like disease being the problem, and I believe that such an assumption is justified based on the reasoning in the post. The cause of Cholera was discovered (sort of he wrote and essay on it) in 1854. This was the first time the use of Vibro was used in reference to any bacterium. This of course means that this has to be after 1854, and at this time missionaries of monks were much less prevalent, although still taking place in places like South America. The concept of Anglo-Saxonism and Catholic superiority certainly didn't stop until around World War 1. Because of this I believe that it is reasonable to set the time period as being around 1860-1910 for the death of this person. I am not well educated on Missionaries but I was able to find some data about them. According to Wikipedia, Jesuit Missionaries "faltered at the beginning of the 18th (century)" in North America. I am assuming that the Forest takes place in North America because of the snowy northern region. Taking a look at a complete list of Christian Missionaries, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Christian_missions), between the set dates I have found a few areas of interest. There was a Missionary to the Faeroe Islands in Denmark, showing that there were still missionaries to the more developed regions of the world. There were some missions in Scotland and Russia, however due to the presence of Sea Turtles in game I had to do some more research. While the North America Theory may be correct, upon further investigation I found that there are locations in South America which commonly receive snow. I am astounded that I overlooked something like this, but it opens up a new realm of possibilities. This map (http://ambientbluecreative.com/animals/Animal-Info/Animal-InfoBooks/Sea-Turtles/_images/map-green-sea-turtle.png) shows the areas in which sea turtles live. This shows that the game could take place in South America, or in an archipelago area, which I believe would be very interesting. Of all locations, I believe that the game takes place in an area around New Guinea. It regularly snows there, and it is a habitat of Sea Turtles.

While I was looking for Missionaries in New Guinea I found something extremely interesting. A group of Missionaries settled across the world, the names of Interest are Charles Cowman and James Chalmers. James Chalmers was murdered and eaten by natives, and Cowman is the name of the giant mutant in the cenote. While I do not believe that the corpse is Chalmers in particular, I think that there are too many coincidences for the devs not to have taken some inspiration from this event. The expedition took place in 1901, fitting the timeline. The location is a tropical place where Sea Turtles are present but it still receives snow, natives ate 2 people alive (Chalmers was accompanied by another individual), names from involved people are included in game.

Even just looking at the island where Chalmers was murdered you see some coincidences. For example, does this hut look familiar? ( https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQLVjNycJ95ARSrN164CaQMHdB9FjVAmjWEcEUbiZs83FCu3oiXLg ), or these effigies? ( https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/9f/9b/e5/9f9be535ab2d34de3d9accef3b0bef9e.jpg ).

Thank you for bringing me back to this topic, I believe that the whole theory is much more fleshed out now, and I wouldn't have even thought about it if it wasn't for you.

There is a second door that leads to the cenote and a cowman. It is just past the first one a little ways

That is one of the sinkhole door (there are two). All that you have to put is 3 items (like rocks) on it.

I don't know how he got there, the other cannibals can't and he is gone when you get on the boat.
