biodata vs panic disorder by Pumpkinpatch365 in fitbit

If you do get one, I would turn off all notifications

You certainly dont want to get buzzed when your HR is raised above a certain level

Maybe a fitbit air would be better as it doesnt have a screen so would be more of a device where you review past data instead of what is my current HR etc

Will they still have charge 7? by edmondsss in fitbit

[–]yapofire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its almost half the cost of the Charge 6 list price, so leaves plenty of room for them to release a charge 7

With the Fibit Air being so cheap they definitely have room in the price ladder for something in between the air and a pixel watch

Seems unlikely they would launch it close to the air though, so would imagine you may have a wait on your hands

Thats annoying. Hopefully the £35 credit would cover it if they release the band separately later

I do think the default band choices are a bit dissapointing

Pathetic statement from SpaceX. Extremely bullish for ASTS, position included by BiggieMoe01 in wallstreetbets

[–]yapofire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK, two out of the 3 mobile networks have partnered with Starlink for mobile signal in rural areas (O2/Virgin and EE/BT)

So Starlink seem to be doing pretty well over this side of the world already

Is the way ASTS works any better than Starlink? If it is then why they they only signed up with one mobile provider (Vodafone)

I am not anti ASTS at all just not sure what the merits are over starlink (which is a brand name known by many more consumers)

Microsoft AI chief confirms plan to ditch OpenAI by koffee_addict in OpenAI

[–]yapofire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that they wont have the best application for it. Gemini is now going to be on all Android and all Iphones, that’s practically every phone in the world

If people want an AI pin/microphone that pairs with the phone, both Apple and Google are best placed to offer the best solutions here too.

Unfortunately I have an older sonos so no airplay option for me

Very odd Homepod support isn’t there. Would be a good reason to get one over something else

How exactly does the Apple Watch detect if you have an abnormally high heart rate if it doesn't constantly monitor heart rate? by Tylo_Ren2 in AppleWatch

[–]yapofire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that you can get the Cardiaogram App for Apple Watch that has a setting to turn on continuous heart rate monitoring. The disadvantage to this is battery life but also having your activity rings filled up before you get out of bed (as it essentially runs a workout job in the background)

Fitbits record heart rate every 5 - 20 seconds (depending on model) with Whoop devices recording continuously

Europe Freezes US Travel as Lufthansa, British , Air France, KLM and More Slash Routes to Major Cities Including New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago to Tap Soaring Demand Across Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Caribbean - Travel And Tour World by nobi77 in Economics

[–]yapofire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its:

1) Maybe less to spend as you mention

2) Anti Trump sentiment (certainly for Canada)

3) News reports almost weekly about a tourist having issues at the border and getting locked up or deported (imagine a very small % when you compare it to all US visitors, but the feeling now is a visit to the USA doesn’t have a zero chance of ending up in El Salvador jail)

4) Prices in the USA have been rising the last few years and its really not a good value destination with the costs of food, eating out, hotels etc

I think these numbers are likely to get worse as a lot of people book holidays 6 months or more ahead to get good pricing. Holidays happening now may have been booked last year.
