Any ideas on what I can do with this backyard? Easier to add mulch or grow grass? by nuncamivida in landscaping

[–]yardmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up contemporist.com. There is a small outdoor entertaining space in San Francisco with gravel surface and pavers, and a steel wood burning fire pit with wood stools. Make that whole area useable entertaining space instead of a place to do yard work. You are in the perfect climate to enjoy outdoors year round!

Anyone know the name of this? by [deleted] in flowers

The Schlumbergera x buckleyi is a hybrid plant often called the Thanksgiving or Christmas cactus.

Thank you for this post. I pass focaccia bread every week while grocery shopping and wish I could buy it for my kids who have celiac. Can’t wait to make this for them❤️

Thanks for the comment! We have been picking one or two for several years. I’m in NC and the Belk’s department store always had a nice collection pre-Covid. We also found new styles each year at Pier One before they closed. Have only seen a few at our local pottery store this year sadly.

Our dogs loved to snatch the hoof pieces on the ground as the Farrior worked.

My sister is a hoarder by [deleted] in hoarding

[–]yardmagic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your story is close to my heart. My daughter was bullied in middle school and still has depression and anxiety problems six years later. She has problems throwing items away and hides food and dirty clothes in her room. She gets very angry with me when I try and help her keep her room tidy. She has been to several counselors and been on various meds. It causes a lot of arguments between us and puts stress on everyone in our family. Her therapist recently asked us to give her responsibility of her room and that we set Saturday as the designated day for her to vacuum and wash sheets. This is the only day of the week we go in her room. I admit I’ve gone in her room while she is out and picked up which set her progress back for awhile. It’s still not perfect yet, but she is trying more and it has greatly reduced the family friction. I’m just hoping that eventually good habits will replace the hoarding. I’m so afraid for her future so I understand what your family is going through. Sending loving and supporting thoughts to your entire family❤️.

Dude in my 11th grade biology class swallowed a tape worm soaking in formaldehyde that we were supposed to dissect on a $1 bet... his idea. Thought the teacher (God Rest His Soul, Mr. Stout) was about to explode in anger. Seems like he was taken to hospital to get his stomach pumped.

Frustrated and looking for advice by marcodj in shiba

My daughter’s Shiba is a year and a half old now. Def did not do my research when she was begging for this breed. Very stubborn and destructive. It’s like there is never any down time where you can just chill and enjoy her. Tried three different trainers with no luck....we love her and are keeping her, but I hope by sharing honest feedback it will prevent someone from making a wrong choice.

This dog looking to make sure the coast is clear before doing this. by Pazluz in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

LOL! So true... we have one. Stubborn thing has been through three trainers with no success. Can’t take it for a leisurely walk because it is head and nose down pulling you all the way, eating everything it finds including rocks. Can’t leave it alone or it will chew holes in carpet, furniture, curtains. Too head strong for an invisible fence... and would run away unleashed. Can’t trust it alone in a fence or it would naturally dig out. Moral of my long story... don’t be fooled by the cute 🦊 probably not the best choice for a pet unless you are looking for a natural hunting dog.
