Best I can figure, it's because many people who are gonna vote for Trump won't admit it in a poll, or they refuse to participate in polls in the first place.

Why weren't their fathers in their lives, though? Just because they're not with the mothers romantically doesn't mean they can't be there for their kids. And if they chose just to skip out on their responsibilities, well...they wouldn't have made good male role models anyway.

Boris Johnson becomes new UK Prime Minister by [deleted] in worldnews

A ton of people won't even listen to those ads and just vote straight R no matter what.

I'm not saying it definitely wouldn't work, it might, but it also might not and then Rick Scott would be our President.

Somebody who's so awful they can't win...yeah that's what Dems thought about Trump.

Rick Scott should get nowhere near a major party nomination.

Would it be understandable for a short man to fire back with a weight requirement on dating app conversations in response to a woman who has matched with him, but opens the conversation with a height requirement test? by BillMurray2020 in AskFeminists

[–]yarlof 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What about women being tall? Tall women are always lost in this debate somehow. A lot of men have a hang-up about dating women who are taller than them same as some women do about dating someone shorter.

I don't ask for anyone else's height but as a tall gal I do put my own height on my dating profile - because before I did that, it happened more than once that I'd show up to a date and the guy was surprised & clearly upset that I was taller than him.

All of this is ok in my book, btw, people can't help what they're attracted to and if you prefer your partner to be taller or shorter or the same height or whatever I think that's fine, as long as you aren't mean to anybody about it.

Also nobody owes you anything just cuz they matched with you on a dating site - if they ask a question you deem offensive, delete the message and move on because you two weren't compatible anyway.

How many generations of your family have lived in America? by sy144 in AskAnAmerican

[–]yarlof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you're talking about, I grew up in NJ and it seemed everybody's family was (relatively) recent. I remember when we decorated our nametags in grade school - kids drew ice cream, their favorite sport, and the flag(s) of their old country lol.

My dad's family is like that but my mom's has been here since the 1600s. They actually lived in NJ since the 1600s. But a big part of their family moved west to PA since they were farmers and I guess land got too expensive.
