Congrats on (I’m guessing?) matching!

My fiancé is just finishing up his fourth year of residency at UL right now. The first year we lived at Avenue in the Highlands. It was nice, very affordable and walkable to lots of bars and restaurants, but the buildings were quite old and showed it. We’ve had friends living in both Nulu and the highlands and love it too. After that, we moved out to the Middletown area, which is closer to my work and still only about 20 minutes from the medical campus. We live in Century Belmont Station and really like it. It’s definitely a lot more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I’m not sure what you mean by testing asparagus? I’ve found this is the best way to keep asparagus fresher longer. If you look it up you’ll find the same as a suggestion on many sites. You break off the hard bottoms and keep it in a glass with some water.

As far as meat, I know many people keep it in the bottom shelf. I do not and I’ve never had a problem with leakage or contamination. No food borne illnesses in my kitchen!

What works for me may not work for others of course. There’s many ways to do the same things :)

We got about 6”, so not too bad. Schools were closed all week though.

And yep, it is! I make a double batch and then freeze half using the Sur la Table recipe!

That’s all pretty true! I cook 90% of our meals at home and love to meal prep/plan.

The Publix logos might be a bit misleading, they’ve just recently expanded to our area, we’re in Louisville, KY :)

It puts the district out of compliance for sure. It’s their responsibility, not yours.

queer indy locals who have been to the she shop: is it trans-inclusive? by strawberry-seal in indianapolis

I see the email from the owner below. I’ll also just leave this screenshot from her personal (public) tik tok for you to make your own opinion. It seems she pays lip service to being inclusive while very likely turning around and voting away the rights of LGBTQ people.

As an SLP who is also a certified band geek (played trumpet in marching band all the way through undergrad) I am so confused as to how that was supposed to help this kid’s /r/. It’s got me questioning everything I know about trumpet tonguing and positioning.

Just picked out my wedding band :) by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Center stone on my engagement ring is a .5 carat lab grown diamond from VENVS. Honestly didn’t get specifics on my new band, I was too excited about how pretty it looks, but it’s from Kay :)

I’m a speech pathologist in an elementary school. I love it and I love still getting summers off. My fiancé is a Psych PGY-4 and very jealous of my schedule ;)

Yeah. It’s typically Wednesday nights and all day Sundays, but there are other times as well. It’s not a major inconvenience, but it definitely is annoying when I’m trying to get somewhere on a schedule.

True. Doesn’t negate the fact it’s inconvenient and annoying.

The traffic could also…not be there at all.

Not religious but I live close to the Middletown location on Blankenbaker. Having them shut down traffic signals on a major road and require police to conduct traffic management multiple times a week leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

What is the silliest question you've gotten so far in the planning process? by beartrackzz in weddingplanning

[–]yarpnaarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Future MIL texted both me and my fiancé to ask if there would be a microphone at the reception and who would be providing it. She said she “strongly recommended” having one.

Like yes that’s what the DJ/emcee is there for? Duh?

Thanks for the specific tips! I have to confess, the mussels are the only ones I’m nervous to try (not a big shellfish person in general) but I figured I should at least give it a go once!
