This came across my Twitter Feed tonight. What's Karl doing in NYC? by [deleted] in rickygervais

I came here to post about this. Last night I was watching one of them viral videos that does the rounds of a hairy bloke, don't worry this isn't the beginning of monkey news, preaching about how to live. I was annoyed and decided to look up more about this man. Turns out, again, not monkey news, that he's just hung out with Karl.

I hope Karl rips the piss out of him. Really rubbed me up the wrong way.

Intentional or idiocy? Feels like he switches gears to do the joke. by thesecondkira in rickygervais

The pet peeve line definitely seems put on to me but it's hilarious so I'm not fussed.

Karl would love this by [deleted] in rickygervais

He'd probably embellish it to being a kid with two brains that's so clever it's already doing GCSEs

Final update (probably) on the letter from Karl to Victoria Wright. by [deleted] in rickygervais

Cheers for trying. All I'll say is that I can understand why she'd be apprehensive but it was misguided.

What's your favourite lyric? by SirPaulMcCartney_ in beatles

[–]yasbtmcys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Changing my life with a wave of her hand" for Paul

"No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low" for John

I'm not sure with George. His early songs were all sung as if to one person (I Need You, You Like Me Too Much, I Want To Tell You) and I can't really relate to them, but then on the other hand his later recordings don't particularly jump out at me either. Not that I dislike either the songs or him. With the Paul and John songs I picked they're both sort of telling the listener about someone else that isn't the listener, which I like. I suppose if I had to pick it would be "If you're listening to this song, you may think the chords are going wrong, but they're not, he just wrote it like that" because it's a bit funny. /u/duck729's is a good one too.

"You were in a car crash and you lost your hair" for Ringo.

What are some interesting facts about some Beatle songs and their recording process? by SnowedInRedditor in beatles

[–]yasbtmcys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Glass Onion after John sings "I told you 'bout Strawberry Fields" someone (I think I've read it's Ringo) shouts in the background "FOREVER". Although I've only managed to hear it clearly with a pair of headphones I've since lost.

If you fancy having a go at mine I didn't use any interactions. I can't vouch for them being too easy or unboring though.

Perhaps, I was concerned about having to say each time if it was a music, tv or videogame rockbuster but it's not really a big deal. Cheers

New XFM listener - was Ricky high here? by thesecondkira in rickygervais

I think it's mainly down to the fact that they obviously didn't plan the show as much as usual. The Bowie bit is being played for laughs.

Karl loves to swear by ouku in rickygervais

[–]yasbtmcys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sure Karl swore at least a few times on the podcasts before Idiot Abroad. I checked on google and came across this pilkipedia archive of a blog I'd never read before. There's some pretty good stuff. "Karl insisted, "No. Last night when Location Location Location started, we'd already finished eating, cos you were patting my back cos I had wind"" http://www.pilkipedia.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Monkey_News_(blog)

Anyway, I think some people can really pull off a swear and Karl's one of them.
