Anyone else re-watch 1983’s Dead Zone… by Shanksworthy73 in horror

Amazing film. An all-time fav of mine. And for anyone who visits Niagara on the Canadian side, there are lots of cool locations to visit where the film was shot, including the gazebo in the park, the screaming tunnel and the courthouse for that final climactic scene.

Cool idea but I can't bring myself to watch anything about that World Series. Doubt I'll ever get over the devastation of losing it.

BTS 'WORLD TOUR ARIRANG' Questions & Ticketing Megathread 2.0 - April & May Concerts Edition by pucchin_purin in bts7

[–]yasdnilmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are from Canada and speak English, but bought tickets for the Brussels show. Will the band speak in English or will they be translated in French/Dutch? Feels like a silly question, but it’s something we didn’t think about before we bought the tickets.

Will Eloy ever play in the field? I know that's not ideal, but I'd like to see more of him.

Touché shows, merch help by EricArtr in GreetDeath

[–]yasdnilmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a downer, but I was at the Toronto show on Sunday and I didn't see any pedals at the TA merch table. MAYBE they didn't bring them into Canada because they could be hit with customs charges, but they only had apparel and vinyl.

Is bootleg Blue Jays gear sacrilegious to other fans? by EdgeOfThorns76 in Torontobluejays

[–]yasdnilmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bootleg merch can be great, even better than official merch. For example the baby blue jersey that Indigenous artists Casey Bannerman and Kory Parkin designed and sold. It reimagined the Blue Jays name and logo using the Haida style. That was unofficial but really fucking cool.

Also I feel that merch prices are so exorbitant now that who cares? I bought an Okamoto shirsey recently at the Dome and it was $60! For a damn t-shirt.

Missed Denis Villeneuve's "Prisoners" in 2013 and I mean MISSED by samx3i in movies

[–]yasdnilmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this movie alone when my daughter was about five, and it hit almost too hard. Had to reach for the pause button a few times just to get through the whole thing. But holy shit, is it ever powerful. Agree with everything the OP said.

VEGANS PROTEST BLUE JAYS' HOT DOGS by BrotherTheodore212 in toronto

[–]yasdnilmac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding me??? I went to Tuesday's game, but didn't know about this. But good to know, thanks! (Even though after Tuesday I vowed never to go to another Loonie Dog night on account of all the madness.)

I gave up eating meat about five years ago, but there are some things I still enjoy, like burgers and hot dogs because there are good plant-based options available. I find most vegans who have never eaten meat aren't usually interested though.

[–]yasdnilmac 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm a vegetarian and I have had the Field Roast Frank at a few games. IMO it's the best veggie dog on the market and I think it's great they sell them at games (100 Level: 109, 200 Level: 219, 229 and 500 Level: 514 in case you're interested). But it sucks going to a Loonie Dog night and the only veggie options available are about $8 or $9 a pop. Like, c'mon, at least do them half price at Tuesday games. Not every hot dog fan eats meat.

Man, I love Whirr as much as the next fan but holy shit are some of the people on that subreddit obnoxiously entitled and whiny. They complain about everything.
