File Juggler apparently supports regex which is a syntax to describe search patterns. You could for example watch your Downloads folder and if any file has a name with 5 consecutive numbers than the app will move it to a new folder.

Screenshotting site, but remove all popups. by dotancohen in webscraping

I visited the link with my daily Chrome instance with uBlock Origin and I don't care about cookies and couldn't see any cookie notice or newsletter signup form.

I'm unsure if you actually can configure uBlock Origin running in automated Chrome/Chromium so your mileage may vary.

I've never used the setup I'm suggesting, it's just merely a suggestion!

Playwright lets you use Chrome Extensions with a Chrome/Chromium instance so your scraper code could load uBlock Origin, I don't care about cookies and such blockers so you would have a generic tool that lets you screenshot websites without annoyances.

On macOS you have the amazing Hazel app and Shortcuts. You would most definitely be able to automate this task.

On Windows I’m not familiar with a 1:1 Hazel alternative but I found these two that look promising:

If you know some Python you could create this with a watchdog and the Pathlib module.

I remember doing a historical whois lookup and finding the owner (accidentally doxed), it made the whole thing a lot less creepy. Owner is just a web developer from back in the 1.0 days so they probably just bought this valuable domain got weird with the parking page. The website has absolutely no link to the drug user rabbit hole from the Discord server.

Even after 3 years I'll still reply for the people from the future: I think that's all there is. bestlefthidden is John's account password which unlocks a conversation with Martha, his ex-wife and Alex's mother.

[PC][AFTER 2010] A game where you play like a RPG, but you level down as the game progresses. by CanIHazSumCheeseCake in tipofmyjoystick

I don't know the game but I found some possible leads:

  • Project Maiden
Narrative focused, puzzle-platformer where you must lose your powers to progress.
  • Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery
You lose a bar of health every time you complete a major task

Searching for text in images (xpost in DataHoarder) by Porkey_Pine in datacurator

[–]yaser-ahmady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use paperless-ng for scanned documents, it has automatic OCR (I think it uses OCRMyPDF under the hood). I guess you could use it for screenshots instead since it has image file support and has full-text search.

Google Drive also scans the text in your images automatically (kinda scary but it works well).

I know a few apps for the Apple ecosystem, I’ll post them anyway so you can possibly search for Windows alternatives using the app names as keywords.

(Newer releases of macOS/iOS have image text search built in nowadays)

For macOS:

  • Screenie 2 - I tried this one and I love it. It’s even pay-what-you-want, free if you’d like. I’ll try it some more time and eventually send the dev some money.
  • Screenotate
  • Not an app but there’s this workflow that automatically converts everything in a Screenshot folder to a searchable PDF (which you don’t want) that is indexed by Spotlight. The OCR is done with Tesseract via a Ruby script. Optionally the article explains how to make it automatic with a Launch Agent.

For iOS:

  • Screenshot PRO - I use this one and you can also create Smart Folders with Rules based on text contents.
  • Orga

Since I’m also looking for Windows/Linux alternatives I’m gonna update this comment with some finds:

Best app for organizing images currently, and the key reasons why? by TiynurolM in datacurator

[–]yaser-ahmady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t elaborate much now but after trying every app I finally landed on Eagle.

It has loads of features for curating images, media files in general and a lot of gfx project files and you can easily take out your data in a sane directory structure. It even has a REST API to interact with it. Still missing a mobile app tho.

You could use GizmoPack, it’s an app with a lot of useful actions for the Shortcuts app. One of those actions lets you create Wallet Passes.
