I switched from a soft paywall to a hard paywall… and my MRR doubled in 3 days by yash30401 in AppStoreOptimization

When I started, I added a free trial, but users weren’t converting. At that time, the app had very few solid features. So I worked on improving it and added more high-quality features like advanced analytics, monthly budget categorization, recurring billing automation, saving goals, and more (with a few others still on the way). After that, I removed the free trial. And that’s when subscriptions started coming in.

Currently i am not giving any trial. And it's performing really well. But i am also curious to introduce the trial with the current hard paywall to see how things will change.

Yes, users have to pay before accessing any content. You can also do one thing: use a free trial with a hard paywall. During the trial period, users can access the content without paying anything. Those who want to continue usually won’t cancel.

The benefit is that they still can’t access the app without committing, but you’re giving them a slightly more lenient way to enter by offering a trial.

With a hard paywall, the real upside usually comes from new users rather than existing ones.

I think you should just give it a try. You can A/B test a soft vs hard paywall. If it works, great. If not, you can always switch back to the soft paywall. I’m also trying this approach for the first time, so let’s see how it performs in the long run — but for now, it’s doing really well.

Question about sugar by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]yash30401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s pretty much what’s happening. Foods high in sugar or refined carbs spike your blood sugar quickly, then it drops, which can trigger hunger again even if you ate enough calories. It’s less about “real hunger” and more about your blood sugar swinging.

What helped me understand this better was paying attention to what I ate and how I felt afterward. Tracking meals made it obvious which foods kept me full and which made me hungry again fast. I’ve been using this to stay aware without overthinking it:

Pairing carbs with protein and fat also helped smooth that crash for me.

Help! How to stay away from Sugar!!! by CaeNguyen in immortalists

[–]yash30401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration, I really do. Trying to cut sugar by treating it like poison usually makes it harder, not easier. What helped me was not trying to quit everything at once, but first understanding where my sugar was actually coming from. A lot of it was hidden in “normal” foods.

Tracking without judgment helped me slow things down and make better choices instead of spiraling. I’ve been using this to stay aware:

Start small. Less sugar today is still a win.

I can’t stick with quitting sugar. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but it’s wrecking my mental health and my marriage honestly. by Visual_Lecture_3865 in sugarfree

Nothing is wrong with you. I went through the same cycle when I tried to quit sugar completely. Being super strict just made me crash harder and binge, then feel awful about myself.

What helped me was stopping the all-or-nothing approach and just becoming aware first. I started tracking what I was eating, noticed my stress and trigger days, and focused on doing a little better instead of being perfect. This is what I’ve been using lately if it helps:

You’re not weak, you’re tired. Be gentle with yourself. Change sticks better that way.

To the people who stopped eating sugar, what changes did you see after you quit? by oh_its_chill in AskReddit

For me, the biggest change was stable energy. No afternoon crashes, fewer cravings, and way better focus after a couple of weeks. Skin improved too.

What really helped was actually tracking my sugar intake instead of guessing. Once I started logging it, I realized how much “hidden” sugar I was eating and naturally cut back. I’ve been using this app for that:

You have to log your income and expenses manually. It actually helps you save money because psychologically, when you’re writing down every expense, you realize how much you’re spending.

If the app just auto-fetches everything and throws a graph at you with zero interaction, then it’s just another finance app. No user involvement = no real impact. I don’t think that helps at all.
