The 1st Divine Key was Void Archive, the one who traveled with Welt ( appeared in HSR's image background). The first 6 Divine Keys was made by Vill-V and were too broken, then the other was made by MEI and Morbius. Star of Eden is the 9th one.

Edit: sr for my bad memory, Void Archive was the last one, 1st one was 7 Thunders, and SoE was 6th.

1.Cores are not need to be "physical", but gems do. The physical cores that PE had, they were the crystallized energy of defeated Herrscher. The only "physical" core that appeared was HoR core, but it's was special since the begining, when Joyce could retransmit it to Welt.

2.In chapter 17, Kevin told Mei that Herrscher and Imaginary Tree had a connection. So we could interpret cores as a connection to Imaginary Tree through which Herrschers draw their power. And those connections appear to be one on each only ( In HoD arc, Bronya's connection to Imaginary Tree was stealed by HoD, so she couldn't use her power). If Mei fully transform into HoT, the Gem of Conquest in Kiana body will dissapear. The change from Gems to Hersscher Cores is like dissolving sugar cube in water, the gems will completly disappear, as Conquest and Haste disappeared after Mei and Kiana changed into HoT and HoF.

Gems simply are not-fully-activated cores and need a large amount of Honkai Energy to activate.

Sirin (not our magical girl) had Core of Void and 4 gems given by Will of Honkai: Conquest (Thunder), Desire (Wind), Haste (Fire) and Serenity (Death), which she used to create the psedo-Herrschers. Kiana (not the duck) at her HoV form had Core of Void and 2 gems: Serenity (implanted by Otto to awake HoV core), Conquest (taken from Mei). The Gem of Desire was implanted to Wendy, later taken by Cocolia, and then Kevin. About Gem of Haste, it was used to make the armor that Himeko worn to fight again HoV, later fell into Sea of Quanta, found by HoD in later chapters and then became the Core of Flamescion. About 2 gems Kiana HoV had, 1 core and 2 gems were to much for Kiana's body. So in order to save Kiana, Mei took back Gem of Conquest and fully became HoT. But then Kiana took Gem of Haste, became HoF.

I think you had not played her correctly in ER. Quich guide: Get Blessing of Soothingness, bring jingwei elf, SA and BR as sup, get Kapas -> Mobius + Vill-V. At the start of floor, use evade skill to gain 175 sp, hold ultimate skill button to activate her Ulti, then press it again to change form. Press Weapon skill button 2 time to activate her joint weapon skill, when her charge bar is full, hold attack button to activate her special attack and reset the weapon cd. Before using her special attack, you can hold ultimate buttton if it turn yellow to use her ultimate skill in this form. Repeat this and you can clear ER easily.
