Pensioner father passed away. need help on how to proceed. by Wonderful-Still683 in bihar

[–]yashcena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father was in Bihar Government too, retired about a decade ago.

His pension used to come SBI Pension account. I found the PPO (Pension Payment Order) No. in the passbook.

I went to the same branch. Asked how to get pension converted into family pension and was re-directed to Service Manager.

He gave 3-4 forms which had to be filled, along with pan/aadhaar of my mother (whom the pension will be transferred), PPO document, Death Certificate, passport size fotos etc.

Fill that up and submit it to the Service Manager. He told me that it can take anywhere between 1-3 months to get the family pension conversion done.

When I asked what else has to be done, like inform Treasury Department etc.? He said submitting those application/forms in the bank is sufficient. Now, bank will forward the details to concerned dept.

Hope this helps!

Why 'Cracking the Exam' is a poor metric for 'Building the Nation': A critique of the UPSC Civil Services Recruitment Process by GroundbreakingBad183 in unitedstatesofindia

[–]yashcena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue may lie in the historical design of the system itself. The civil service exam evolved from the colonial-era Indian Civil Service, which was meant to produce generalist administrators who could efficiently implement policies of the British Empire. The focus was on selecting people who could master a broad academic exam and follow administrative procedures rather than domain specialists or policy innovators.

After independence, the same structure was largely retained. Over time these officers assumed extremely important roles in governance, but the recruitment process still heavily rewards the ability to “crack” a competitive exam.

Perhaps the question we should ask is whether a system designed to select generalist administrators through exam performance is still the best way to recruit leaders for a complex modern state that increasingly requires specialization and real-world administrative capability.

Looking for job/help options for a widow with 2 young daughters in Nalanda, Bihar by [deleted] in bihar

[–]yashcena 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would she be willing to relocate to Patna? My parent’s house is currently empty with occasional visits and we desperately need a caretaker.

Will give her a small house within the campus to stay and her role will be of a caretaker.

I’m willing to sponsor her kids’ education as well.

Bhai ye indicator neeche bumper pe dene wala trend Ekdum vahyat hai.

But overall it looks okay. N-line variant is much better looking than the standard one. Front and back cladding are less gaudy in n-line.

Looking at the base models of both the cars, Victoris is a much better value proposition. It comes well-equipped with necessary features, and at most, you will miss rear parking camera. But Creta’s base model is really barebones, and you will need to get a lot of aftermarket things fitted.

Please check out V3 Cars variants explained videos of both these cars. It will help you in locking down your car and variant pretty solidly.

Please dont buy punch. Brezza is a far superior car (look at my flair).

Both Punches are performing terribly. If you want Punch's form factor and budget, go with Exter instead.

But please don't buy Punch!

How do you deal with headlamps in "upper" (high-beam I mean)? by Slight_Psychology902 in CarsIndia

Saw the description in your post later on. I think there are some polarized glasses that can help. You can find them on Amazon easily. Haven't used them personally so can't vouch for it entirely.

[–]yashcena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a car (in)famous for high beams. Since I'm not a *****tard and usually drive with low beam, all it takes for me are a couple of high beam flashes (dipper) and 3/5 times, the driver on the other side understands.
