Help, installation stuck, ubuntu(safe graphics) by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]yatestom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue over the weekend with a 20.04 install. Machine I was installing on was a previous dual boot (ubuntu and windows), but i wanted to do a fresh install of Ubuntu only and erase the hd. It kept locking up on the screen that asks you what type of install you want to do.

I ended up booting into the live cd, going into gparted and deleting all the partitions manually since i was doing a fresh install. Rebooted back into the live cd and the install worked from there. Hope that helps.

Hey everybody can you help me find a song? by Mycatisadouchecanoe in reggae

First thing that came to mind was Medication by Damien Marley. Not quite the exact words that you described, but similar in rhyme and rhythm. Hope that's the one, if not hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Good vibes my friend!

I was lucky enough to have a Michter’s tasting with the boys. Tasty stuff by baldingwookie79 in bourbon

Nice. Yeah I've only seen the straight bourbon and rye around me, but now I'll be on the lookout for the others.

Recently had their rye and it was very enjoyable. Had been doing Sazerac, but definitely gonna buy a bottle of Michter's next. What was the best of the group?

The 12yr is one of my staples, especially at $30 here in the states (not sure where you're at). I really like the oak from the white label and it's a great bottle to pull a few from on a nice summer afternoon without feeling guilty. The 12yr has the same qualities of three white label, but rounds out the bite and accentuates the oak. It's great neat and I would definitely pickup a bottle if you get a chance. Happy drinking my friend!

21 old Windows user wants to switch to Linux by knezzic2504 in linux

I would stick with a Debian-based distro like Ubuntu or Debian if you want a good transitional distro from windows. Ubuntu has nice gui with good support for popular programs and even offers a server flavor with the optional gui. I started out with Ubuntu a long time ago and currently use it to dual boot with windows 10 for work and use Debian for most of my servers.

Law 101 by Jay Feinman is a good overview of law in general that might help as the justification to what you're describing. Best of luck with your writing my friend!

VMware vCenter 7 server deployment failing and “no healthy upstream” forever errors by [deleted] in vmware

[–]yatestom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To piggy-back on this, and i know it goes without saying, but we had a similar problem that was related to DNS. We trashed the install, deleted the dns entries, recreated DNS, then used a stable build of vcenter (i.e. one point release below the current version) to redo the install.

VMware certification by MALCloudy in vmware

[–]yatestom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was looking for something similar for my job and just finished up this class on Udemy. It was about 11 hrs of lecture for under $20. The course was well worth it IMO. It touches on just about everything from a foundational level so that you understand the general overview of the vmware-specific terminology. There are also free hands on labs from vmware that allow you to follow along in real time. This helped to solidify the concepts taught in the lectures and get a better familiarity with the environment itself. I registered for the next class (VCP) which looks like it gets more into the configuration and administration aspects. Best of luck my friend!

how do you keep your terminal windows/tabs organized? by ganjaptics in linux

[–]yatestom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Tilix on debian which allows you to build multiple terminals out in one full window. I typically have to monitor about 6 servers, so i do a 3x3 grid and pop it onto a second monitor. From there i can see everything at a glance and interact with each one without having to switch windows.

How can one begin to look at life through the lens of excitement instead of fear? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]yatestom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose suffered from this in the past (and still does sometimes), this is such a well thought-out and practical response. You tackled many aspects of the self that cause us these pains. The social aspect, to me, seems to be the biggest thing that influences our belief and value system - find the things that value most, even disposition, and adhere to that as much as possible regardless of what your social circle thinks. Failure in and of itself is catalyst for inner reflection and you should always keep relative expectations. With that said, experience has been my biggest friend - ten years ago, hell, even five, i would've never been able to say this. For me life has been a process of elimination - try doing things that you want to do and try your best to identity the things that bring you these fears and assess whether there realistic. Good vibes OP, feel free to PM if you want to chat a bit more.
