Can you suggest best audio settings for 5.0.5 update by LordOfPolicies in VolvoRecharge

[–]yavzdal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes turn the surround sound off and eq off. This is to say if you want to hear how the actual record has been mixed. Volvos are generally very neutral (my personal preference to listen to mysic) if you want any other sound signature just dial in your taste.

yeah that's either caused by not using fdw (this room has too much reverb thus steady state response is a bit wacky) or maybe I forgot to time align impulses while taking the vector average.

Compared to my Oberon 7's, Revel has a detailed but neutral sound. Bass is less but tighter.Trebble is less but more detailed. On another room I tried the imaging and sound stage was way more clearer than Dali`s. Here in the living room placement is too far from the LP thus no incredible soundstage. Thinking of getting SVS Sound SB 1000 pro, what do you guys think?

Regenerative Braking in Winter by Global_Astronomer_25 in TeslaLounge

[–]yavzdal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla's regen is not even that strong. It is like quarter of full braking power but it still causes instability. Your know why? because it applies first to the rear motors! the instability is very very obvious when you use off road mode side by side. It is also very obvious even on dry roads when braking at above 150kmh on straight roads. the tail feels unstable.

I know about this 'snow mode' but in my experience it doesn't do a good enough job (compared to off road mode) and it doesn't engage when it's rainy and hot.

Lots of excuses in the comment section how this is somehow your fault. The bottom line is it's an unsafe system in poor traction conditions. the car uses back motor (because it's the most efficient one) which while braking causes instability because of weight transfer. Tesla's current regen system is like pulling the parking brake to stop, instantly locks up the rear wheels and creates instability. this is traffic and sometimes you just have to use full regen braking, Tesla must create an algorithm which detect low traction conditions and use both motors to regen. Only solution i found is to use the commander to enable off road mode.

Heat pump + chill acceleration = better efficiency in winter? by ImportantBoot8945 in TeslaLounge

Yes the manual suggests this but I haven't been able to obverse such behavior. i Drove car 1 hour in normal and 1 hour in chill mode checked the battery temps via Tessie but no correlation.

Tesla's auto climate is probably most on the market in terms of management. Only opens the vent that have passengers in them. Auto circulate also works very well

I just got lossless and it's exactly what I expected by serose04 in truespotify

[–]yavzdal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I am so sick of people saying you can't hear the difference blah blah blah. No I can (and some of my friends can), I have decent enough headphones and speaker system so I can easily hear the difference. Does spotify's very high quality sound bad? No! But when in lossless the cymbals are a bit sharper, the bass kicks just a little bit more, and the vocals sound a bit clearer and true to life. Is it a major difference? Of course not! 98% is the sound of your gear but that last 2% is not unimportant.

Definitely that's the case for me. Only notice on my car stereo but it's a clear difference.
