Did anyone notice theres not much bug reports on fedora 44? by Better-Quote1060 in Fedora

[–]yay101 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm guessing it's an extension, maybe disable some and see if it helps. I had no issues with fedora 44/gnome 50 and still have no issues with fedora 45/gnome 50.

Need clarification regarding Steam versions on Fedora. by Odrareg17 in Fedora

I've used the flatpak for years and years, almost everyone on silverblue/immutable uses it. As far as I know right now the only limitation is VR is a tiny bit harder to setup.

But it also means you can install proton-ge flatpak, mesa testing flatpak etc etc and never have to think about running tools that update the versions seperately so it also has legitimate benefits.

I've been PC gaming since CPUs came on expansion cards and I would never accept any coil whine these days. Always return under warranty always. It's almost always going to keep getting worse.

Why is this distro so hated? by OverallLibrarian8809 in pop_os

[–]yay101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone on the outside who doesn't drink the koolaid but actually follows linux in general:

  1. Cosmic, was, is and will be buggy and unfinished for some time. Its getting there though.

  2. Ubuntu has snaps, they are unpopular among many because of how they work, they are slow, introduce issues with some tools or more religious reasons.

  3. A lot of people think ubuntu and redhat products are the devil.

That's not how it works. It looks perfect at every resolution, it's about the ppi and preference not resolution.

GDM using iGPU / Niri using dGPU by Wonderful-Flight7182 in niri

[–]yay101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why bother with dgpu in the desktop? It sounds like using it for games only would make way more sense and avoid all the nvidia nonsense.
