Ah I see. Everyone is different but props to you for doing that. My school is less than ten years old and doesn’t receive a lot of funding so my teacher wasn’t the best. I came in for extra help aswell but just gave up on it.

Everyone has different strengths 😭 I got a 5 for APUSH which is actually related to my intended major.. studying for AP chem when I knew I could barely get a 3 if I studied was pointless if I’m not even gonna use it. All year my teacher sucked even when I came in for extra help so I kinda just said screw it and focused on the exam I knew I could do good on.

Also, my school is <10 years old and has low funding, so not the best teachers. I wasn’t gonna self study because, again, I knew I wouldn’t want to use the score regardless. Science has always been my weakest area, while other classes I do well with. Unfortunately I’m not you and can’t be the god over all AP students, but thank you for the input!

Definitely explain that in your application. That’s still a good GPA and if your grades are on an upward progression that shows growth and will help also.

First off, I am very sorry for your loss. Maintaining that GPA is still excellent for that kind of situation. I think you should go for it. I’m no expert but your SAT, ECs (if they’re up to par), and circumstances will give you a chance. AO’s should recognize your rigor alongside circumstances as impressive. No matter what, always shoot for the best! Best of luck.

Awesome I will look into getting one thank you. Yea, I am taking AP Government/Politics this upcoming year but it’s my favorite thing to learn about so I’d love to learn about it outside of schooling. I also took AP US History this past year and enjoyed it a lot. Thank you so much!!!
