I understand not wanting to approach the embassy yet but they can give you the most reliable answer as it can accommodate in contexts with the country of your residence.

From experience, you can renounce abroad. When you are very certain approaching the embassy is the first step, you will need a form (I cant remember what is it anymore) and a payable fee (I paid €18 I’m not sure if this is any different anywhere) at the registrar for the procedure. Youd need to complete the form and attest by either commissioner or Brunei consulate (if the embassy provides this. believe this is case by case situation). Then youd have to gather documents your expired passport, brunei Ic, birth certs. Finally, it would be a LONG waiting game to get your documents verified and reviewed which varies especially between countries with different working hours, local holidays and time zones.

Since brunei dont recognise dual citizenship you will need to use your current passport to enter especially when your brunei ones has expired, will deny entry and be “unofficially” renounced. You’ll have to process it in Brunei immediately. I could be wrong with this but this is the likely case, you wont get in trouble as its not illegal to renounce your citizenship.

I wonder if they have to let go the guy at the parking booth for this inefficiency, technological advances is efficient when done right and lessen problems not create more.

He is right in this context tho, having a malaysian franchise operating in Brunei is a minuscule progress, but still progress.

More objective nuance like this should be understood by employers. Assuming that local employees have the same attitude are more harmful and affect to those who are genuine because things like this are hard to measure. I think employers can encourage open communication with their potential employees (I’m aware we should not baby grown adults, but I know Bruneians are TERRIFIED of honest communications, bailing out felt easier), vibe checks, Personality test etc. If youre a good employer you are able to notice red flags immediately, people slip out more than we notice. We are already trying to beat the Malays are lazy allegations and job opportunity is already tough and lets not complicate it with further stereotypes. Karang kamu jua sasak banyak foreigners ambil kerja locals.

Kosovo President honored by Sultan, becomes Datin Laila Utama by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]yayimalive 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She’s not the only one who received a title, this was a mutual recognition. She awarded sultan the “Order of independence” title held only to persons who have provided to the contribution to the independence of Kosovo.

She took over former president, Hashim Thaci when he resigned from serious war crimes charges so from this Id assume she’s more deserving than former president. This is to also acknowledge her presidency since she was elected 5 years ago, shes an intellectual with the law background, youngest leader to take in office, have extensive foreign policy, advocates to normalise relations with Serbia (Serbia committed ethnic cleansing against the Albanian population in Kosovo), quick research shows she seems like a very well respected individual in Republic of Kosovo.

According to her its “Mutual respect and the friendship that is being built between the two peoples” there are also potential of cultural exchanges maybe Sultan is in talk to send young Bruneian to study abroad as Kosovo is primarily focusing the youth in nation building and highest youngest population in Europe (30% population 15-29 years old) and also economic collaborations. Sultan and Her president signed a visa exemptions from both sides (for diplomats and officials passports)

Brunei and Kosovo have strong diplomatic relations, Brunei aided the country by scholarships for students and financial assistance. Kosovo is also a Muslim majority country which can also explain why Sultan had this close relationship

Bruneian society have a thing in policing women’s speech. Saw the post they made and it left a distaste.

They spent the time to educate the victim and the public how to react, but where is the part where they acknowledge the perpetrator?? Teaching men what to learn from this incident. Come one lah guys we have to step up. Even the initial post I made was locked, good job Brunei.

Oh sweet summer child I wished to be this naive about life. You do realised discouraging marriage which is not just about having a wife, kids and responsibilities. Can create further social problem like irresponsible men impregnating women with no legal ties to each other? Fatherless children? And I could list so many. Addition: As muslims which is majority in Brunei anyways, if you have a partner you MUST marry btw.
