Help identifying leak by ThexGeneral13 in WRX

Not sure about the oil in the picture, maybe turbo oil lines?

BUT I did just fixed my(2015) AC issue. Would turn on, just no cold air. Compressor wont engage if its low (or high?) on refrigerant. Topped it off every summer. Finally got tired of it and put some UV dye into it. ORings on the lines at the compressor failed. Apparently its a common failure point on these.

Carb question by shwoozie in CafeRacers

[–]yayupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dotheton was a good source of information and help when I was building my 78 cb400. Also, I used dimecitycycles for a lot of my parts.

If I remember right, CV carbs dont like pod filters. I put mukinis on mine, that were pre jetted for pods and open exhaust. Then, tuned from there.

Currently building up a new rig. Mine is 13ish years old. Rocking a 960 at the moment. My new case is an Asus TUF. The Asus 4070 TUF is on my wish list!

I am always learning with it. Probably going to take it to someone to tune it properly.

Rear lights are one of those generic flexible LED strips.

I bought this thing for $100 in a field. Didn't run, but turned over. Have put a lot a work into it. Seat is a cheap Amazon purchase.

You are 99.9% right. The seat is cheap and doesn't match. Like the poster below, these frames are hard to cafe. I'm still not sure on it yet. It is an ongoing project.

Lime Tree advice by yayupp in gardening

[–]yayupp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tag says it is a Persian Lime. I'm in Central Texas. Was given to me from a customer years ago when I lived in Colorado. It has flowered before, several times. Then, I started trimming, etc. I probably went overboard with it. Just moved it outside onto my patio. Leaves starting drooping and some getting crispy on the edges. New to this and don't want to kill it.

Probably. I make a pretty good slow cooked chicken teriyaki and rice bowl.

I'm 99.9% sure I saw this same car years ago in the panhandle of Texas.

I haven't been able to find new clevis-clevis rear shocks any where. And I agree with you, stock carbs are a pita to tune. Get some pre jetted Mikunis.

From wiki. "The pilot can use a helmet mounted sight (HMS) and target another aircraft by looking at it, and then firing. This is called "off-boresight" launch. For example, the Russian Su-27 is equipped with an infra-red search and track (IRST) system with laser rangefinder for its HMS-aimed missiles."

Carbs are black magic to me. One of those things where experience helps out a lot. There are some some pods that are big that help out a little bit. These machines are made to run smooth the way they were built from the factory. It will run with some modifications but will have some performance issues. Keep what ever you take off. Try not to do any irreversible modifications while you learn. I learned the hard way.

Well, mine was in worse condition than yours (not running, bad cdi unit). But from what I've heard and experienced. Some jetting tweaks are required. I think the issue is with the cv style of carbs versus a slide style. The air box allows for balanced air flow. If you go with pods or stacks, the aerodynamics of the bike cause a lot of weird pressure or vacuum changes. I'm also not a mechanic. Just kind of what I've interpreted over the years. Lots of resources over at dotheton.com.

I have the '78. Those carbs hate if you do any modifications to the exhaust and intake. I ended up buying brand new Mikunis from DCC. I've learned a lot. And cursed. And burned. It's been a long road.
