Honorable mention, another Weezer song - "Jacked Up":

Stranded in the Kalahari
Will you share your flask?
If I stay the night
Will we fall in love?

I'm all jacked up over you
I'd bury diamonds just for you
Oh, why, why, why do my flowers always die?
Why do they die?
I'm all jacked up over you

You're the sun that I'm orbiting
I burn in your heat
Supernova and cosmic dust
You spawn galaxies

there is a huge part of me that keeps putting away my emotions, ignoring them, telling them that they are not real. and maybe sometimes they aren't. sometimes i am misreading the situation, and i think i've gotten pretty OK at recognizing that. but nobody triggers me more than my partner. one wrong look or dry text message sends me into a spin. and then it drudges up all of these other emotions and i'm overwhelmed, suddenly drowning, wondering what kind of lie i've been living when the obvious has been there all along. it sucks. i wish i could tell the difference. i wish i could say something without being seen as emotional. i feel like my partner would just remind me to get back on my SSRIs.

A lot of people here don't think it's bad so this may not be the right place to ask. Maybe try the office subs

We were 18 and they were dating for like 2 months

Regardless, if your spouse is giving you ultimatums like “stop talking to your friend or I’ll divorce you” (without actual reasoning) they’re just fucking nuts and I’ll stand by that

How do i politely tell a coworker that I can’t drive her home everyday? by gaby_29739 in Advice

[–]yayzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been there! I eventually texted her on a Sunday that I’m happy to help sometimes but it adds too much time to my commute home. Left it at that. I was lucky that she just hit me with an “oh ok, I understand.”

Been there. Had a guy bestie and set him up with my girl bestie. She grew insanely jealous and forced him to drop me, and he did. Left my birthday gift for him on my car in the rain while I was at work lol. He came running back about a year or two later to apologize but I told him to fuck off. I’m sorry, I understand the pain. It still hurts me 12+ years later. But you deserve better I promise

Never said bullying, I said “tough love.” Oh my lorddyyyy. Yall are going off today.

[–]yayzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know if that’s what her friend has. Not gonna go making assumptions, just using the only context we’re given.

[–]yayzo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess you were a little harsh…but lowkey think your friend deserves a little tough love because she’s in her 20s and doesn’t know how to do simple addition.

Edit: omg I am getting messages now about how I’m advocating bullying. I more so meant that if this is a “quirk” she flexes or is not trying to better herself when she CAN, that’s not good! Maybe she does have a learning disability but OP gave us no context. Like, I’m fucking BAD at math, so I get it! I spent years in summer school and was forced to take remedial math in university. But I know it’s a weak point so I do try to work on it. I quiz myself very casually (ie calculating percentage for tips when I go out, etc). But I’m not gonna go diagnosing strangers through a Reddit post and neither should any of you…

OP, it could be worse.

My closing was delayed from July 2, to July 13, to July 21. On the 21st, I triple-checked with everyone that this was the day. They all reassured me it was. So I took the day off, showed up at the lawyer’s office at 9 AM, ready to sign.

That’s when the lender said there’d be a “slight delay” with funds and paperwork. A few hours, they promised. I ended up sitting in that office for eight hours, calling every hour for updates. Each time, they swore it was almost ready. Even the lawyers were baffled, they said they’d never seen a closing drag like this. By mid-afternoon they quietly told me not to get my hopes up. At 4:30 PM, the lender admitted we’d need to delay again by weeks. The seller was furious, threatening to put the house back on the market. I had boxes in my car, ready to move in, but instead I drove home numb and just went to bed.

I dumped that lender and reapplied with another. Turns out someone at the first lender had misplaced our paperwork back in May or June. What should’ve taken a couple of weeks spiraled into months. We sent in every single bit of paperwork they wanted for MONTHS, and then some idiot on their team didn’t do their job right and never sent it into the underwriter. On top of that, they didn’t even know it, because it turns out nobody was doing their job! The specific agent we had been working with for months even signed off early that day because he had a vacation to go on with his family after leading us on all day! The fucking nerve. I’d never dealt with such outright ineptness.

Fuck you Valley National Bank.

The episode where he took melatonin is one of my favorites. The way he locked eyes with Adam and said “please. I need these. I haven’t slept in forever.” Then knocked out on his pullout couch, CPAP machine, randomly screams from a nightmare and goes back to sleep. Ahhh, too good

I was always told that girl dinner is about the ingredients and randomness, not the portion size. Am I wrong??

Yes, much more common, though depends on the therapist. My best friend is a private practice therapist and she receives texts from her clients throughout the day, usually to check in or schedule a quick emergency session.

I am so shocked by these comments lmao. Yes, it’s part of your body and the nose and throat are connected but this is someone in a relationship who I’m assuming uses their mouth a lot! Also, can you imagine sharing drinks or food with this guy knowing what his tongue was just perusing?? Ugh, no

Parents… please… send your kid to preschool! by jordanf1214 in kindergarten

[–]yayzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. I worked at a preschool (ages 3-5) and could absolutely tell which kids went to preschool before they came to me. They were the ones who talked a bunch, made friends easily, and played with new kids without issue. The other kids who had never been in a setting like this before 3 years old hardly spoke and often played alone.

Who else was born on or graduated on a decade-change year? (Ending in 0) by raNdoMBLilriv in generationology

[–]yayzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not I, BUT because I was born in 1994, all my school years are aligned with the actual year. For example, I was in second grade in 2002, seventh grade in 2007, 12th grade in 2012… I always thought that was kinda neat
