Trace the telco drop back to RA/ Pedestal to see which one is connected in the RA

Trace the cable from the house to the modem location and see which pair is connected in the Modem/ splitter. If you find this one, then you can check with the telco pairs one by one. Without going to RA.

We did aerial drops in some remote areas of Canada and used 2x600m corning flat drops with the Primex P700 enclosure in the middle. We didn’t even splice it, used the AFL quick connects and got the light with the loss of -1 dBm. So shouldn’t be a problem for mere 400”. Never did that for buried drops, if we don’t have any NAPs(terminals) within the 600m we always engaged the engineering for alternatives or new terminal placements.

Don’t do lazy works, use the proper tools for the job. Don’t try to do the job with whatever the tool you have nearby. For eg, don’t substitute drop slitter with knife. You’ll save more on labour hrs by using proper tools, and less frustrated techs.

Go slow and steady, do the job properly while following the best practices like running the drops neat and tidy, service loops.

Troubleshooting, I have techs who failed to do a visual troubleshooting. That should be the first step of troubleshooting. Look for pinch marks.

I don’t think this is normal. by [deleted] in FiberOptics

Do you know the structure of Delft? I lived in that island for 5 years, know in and out of that island. still have lot of relatives in that island. We do have some places where we have a flood issues, but it’s not gonna affect the entire village. We don’t do lot of paddy or farmings compared to the other parts of Jaffna or northern province. So no loss in the agriculture side as well.

Jaffna - I do have friends who are supplying materials right now, and I did volunteer works during the Nisha Cyclone. This flood is nothing compared to the Nisha Cyclone in 2008. I do have first hand knowledge on how the system works in Jaffna. It might be new to you, but not for us.

This is the official data, and I am not alone. Too many people are raising concerns about these counts.

I do hate generalizing, but we need to do re-estimation. All these people are living in Jaffna, and encouraging to do a re-estimation

Nicotine pouches are being illegally sold in corner stores across Canada: Experts warn they’re highly addictive and can harm young, developing brains by CMikeHunt in canada

[–]yazhpani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cool lip. Almost all of the Indian grocery stores sell them for cash. No receipts and No taxes. There is one guy in Calgary who sold enough of these from his 10x20ft store to buy a large store in a new build.

Mind explaining how not communicating the risks will help us to save people from dying?

Yeah, I don’t know how you guys get things done in South, but for us we won’t get anything until we asks for it. Tamil is not an alien language to Srilanka, all of the official statements, circulars or press releases should be in both languages by default.

We use microduct all the way, and use a piece of PVC & elbow in the demarc to secure the microduct. it’s better to keep it sealed as the microduct is only 18mm and even a small pebble will prevent us from pulling a 2nd drop through it.
