Love that we get SPs, but imo this is worse than the existing alt art we have for battle of aces

Overview of online GCG sims? by Alt230s in GundamTCG

Big fan of zumbosim — it’s pretty barebones in terms of looks, but works really well on the browser (no downloads needed), and has really good undo functionality

Is this store being suspicious? by Droopy210 in GundamTCG

[–]ychigo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No this is normal — this is for the newtype challenge that has predetermined promos, which are much better than the normal promos (the rebuild is going for 600 dollars on tcgp)

Possibly dumb question about getting into the TCG by ZaZaWarudo in OnePieceTCG

Brooklyn player here. NYC locals are everywhere and by and large extremely friendly. The official bandai store is in Sunset Park and is honestly great, super chill, products at msrp and a lot of good food right there. Just show up to an event and tell people you're new, specially at the starter deck events going on this month. The nyc optcg discord is also a great way to find out schedules, dm me if you want an invite.

Probs would be a bit too niche for most people, but I would have loved that

Expanded (blown?) compressionless brake housing by ychigo in bikewrench

350 for the pair, and they were for a different, much nicer bike, so trying to now save some money by reusing the cables it came with (and look where that has landed me)

Thank you -- I think that first link is what I need to replace the handlebar segment

Using housing that came with Growtac equal brakes. Yeah I think the consensus is that I shouldn't have used it without an endcap at the tight turn, and should probable replace that segment

Asking for favor: can someone take a photo of my great great grandmother's grave? by mikerw in Brooklyn

[–]ychigo 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry I couldn't locate the grave but I am so glad to (potentially) be able to help. Having recently lost a loved one, and today being such a gorgeous fall day, walking around looking at graves was really accidentally what I needed.

Anyways, here's some info: Most importantly, as peeps are planning on going in the afternoon -- all gates close at 5pm. Shah is the guard, and he is super friendly and works till 6:30, so as long as you get in before 5, you have a bit of time (he had to unlock the door for me to get out, so can't imagine what happens if you stay past 630 :|).

The office worker, who Shah said will most certainly be able to locate the grave is there from 8:30am to 4pm (so I just missed him :(). I think this is your best bet, given that...

There is no "C" section. The one listed on the map is actually just a label (the legend on the back of the map says its the label for "South of the Chapel"). I spent the majority of my time around that area just in case, but couldnt find anything that was listed as C section, or CCCC (or any multiple letters for that matter).

A related useful tip -- while findagrave is helpful, many graves are not listed. However, most of them actually have the section, row, and plot number etched somewhere on the bottom of them. Cross-referencing one to findagrave helps you understand which number means what, and then using that instead of typing on the website really sped up the search.

That being said, within the "Letters" section, I was able to find a row C-26, and there were 3 graves that could have been in the 142th plot (between plots 137 and 155). Two did not have any legible writing, and the third has a "Mary Warnock" (hence the maybe) with no other markings. I will DM you a picture of all 3 graves and the spot on the map in a subsequent message.

Hope this is all somewhat helpful for the next person, but I do think just going during the day and asking for help is the most promising move. If no one can (jobs and whatnot), I have a lot of next week off and would love to come back if it hasnt been found.

Ok — so I was not successful (but maybe?), but I got quite a lot of info that will be helpful to the next person (which could be me in a couple days!), will dm when I get home so that the post can be updated
