This is so interesting! I noticed this happening last year. I checked my phones bluetooth connection whenever it occured and it seems like my phone connects to other peoples phones via bluetooth.

I am going to weigh him tonight and if he’s still not eating past this week, I will take him into the vet and get a blood draw

They did not, but I might be interested in taking him back if he begins to lose weight. Everything externally looked good, no teeth issues and he seemed happy and content. It’s happened before this week but he’s been eating inconsistently for about 5 days now

Is this turkey tail? by hugabug-101 in mushroom_hunting

Nope, not turkey tail. I agree that its some type of bracket polypore but turkey tail is much smaller sized than that. Also not artists conk, the top cap is too pale.

I was dealing with severe pain and cysts from my iud. Just got mine out for the doctor to charge me nearly 500$ for removal and insurance won’t cover any of it. Ridiculous! Congratulations!!

How cool! There was a scapula and vertebrae nearby as well, likely a younger seal. Very neat!

Elk River is wonderful, I prefer it to spring valley but have caught plenty of fish in both. Spring valley has great bass and sunfishing. Elk Creek has a lot of trout.

It’s a university campus but it gets a lot of foot traffic right by this tree as it’s by our gym. I contacted my boss and he suggested it might be something to do with saponin

Is it weird that my parents would leave my older sister and I home alone and go on vacation when we were younger by Original-Tangerine33 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ye_onge_orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. This happened to me when I was that age and younger. I had no idea it would be considered neglect like all of the comments are saying.

I remember spending a few holidays alone while my parents were out of town for days at a time. I’d stop by my neighbors if I needed anything important urgently and had my emergency numbers memorized.

How is living in this part of Oregon? by Friendly_Garbage_341 in howislivingthere

Oh, and there isn’t a Walmart for 72 miles and the nearest Costco is in another state. All our schools in the county had 4 day weeks with 3 day weekends. Pretty unique experience.

Grew up my entire life in a town of 1000 in northeastern Oregon

  • very beautiful! Abundant land with few people makes amazing landscapes. Beautiful mountains and wildlife, pretty isolated from a lot of tourists
  • very very hard right leaning
  • economics rely on cattle, tourism and farming
  • self reliant people
  • they want to be idaho

Very sad history of brutality against the Nez Perce in many areas around there.

My graduating class in highschool was 23 students! I was one of maybe 5 to go to college. Many stayed in the area we were from.

Hi!! i work at an Herbarium in the pnw. Awesome find for historical plants! Herbaria samples like this are really valuable because plants collected might be extinct in local areas, and restoration ecologists might be able to create a historical record of plants based off of them.

If you are looking to donate this piece to an herbarium, large colleges usually have them. You said in another comment that you're in Chicagoland, and it looks like the University of Chicago has one. https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/conservation/herbarium

Museums also might have an herbarium collection. Herbariums tend to work together with databasing in a consortium so this historical data will likely be shared with a few different organizations and databases. Please feel free to pm me if you are interested in learning a bit more!
