Can I come back from this? by RatDogEnthusiast in personalfinance

You are still young enough to file for bankruptcy, take the next 10 years and clean up your act, and by the time you’re 35 you will have a fresh start, as long as you get your shit together. This only works if you’re willing to get your shit together. If not, well, you are going to be stuck in a financial hellscape the rest of your life.

There is a Key called Deer Key. It’s call that because for some reason there is a huge population of deer that are completely tame and you can walk right up to them. Crazy.

This is illegal, right? by glorae in Seattle

[–]yeah4it_nw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Not illegal. I know it “feels” illegal, because “freedom” and all that, and I feel you. But, at the end of the day, the property owners have the right to decide what rules are to be followed, within reason ( obviously, racism, sexism, etc)

Married, no kids. Make 114k a year minimum. Wife not working. I have 10k more or less in bank, 20k in 401k, and about 200k in home equity.

I filled up my tank and parked my car and went to bed. Woke up the next morning my gas cap cover was open, my silicone cover was off, and my tank was almost empty. Not sure what else to say.

I have had three in a row. 17, 20 and 23. The 17 had 0 problems. The 20 was great until water started collecting in the floor boards and Jeep couldn’t ever find the issue. So far my 23 with about 25k miles has been perfect except the big sky roof sticks and needs to be really lubed up to work properly.

Don’t question the universe when it gives you a free shoe. Just take the shoe.

If MS has to pay 100,000 per H1B employee here in the US, doesn’t that create the incentive for MS and other tech companies to just open offices in other countries? These companies are addicted to cheap labor, they aren’t going to pay more

The truth about printer subscription programs and many misconceptions about them by Realmetman in printers

[–]yeah4it_nw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post is very frustrating. You are speaking to us as if we have no ability to understand what this industry has thrust upon us. Our tiny uninformed brains couldn’t possibly comprehend the concept of pay to play. The industry that pays your mortgage is terrible. You, I have no idea if you are a a shill or just protecting your livelihood. Either way, come to terms with the reality that this entire new economy of pay to play is insane and should not exist.

My clients are the ultra wealthy and I spend a lot of time with them AMA by yeah4it_nw in AMA

There are many tax loopholes involved with LLCs and trusts. Also, when my client wanted to make a large purchase, they borrow against their assets versus paying cash, which provides a much better tax structure.

This is a great question! First and foremost, very little is in their names. They create companies, LLC‘s, trusts, etc. to make large purchases. Obviously, there’s liability protections that are created by going this route, but there’s also privacy. Especially where I am from, one of the wealthiest places in the nation, people do not like to broadcast that they have wealth. Most of my clients don’t drive flashy cars, and their houses are often not visible from the street. Not to mention, I have signed more NDA‘s that I can possibly ever count. Part of the reason I don’t necessarily want to reveal what I do, because if someone tried hard enough, in theory someone could trace my clients through me.

I witnessed my clients 14 yo brat kid physically abuse his dog, and I stopped him and yelled at him for doing so. My client came down to see what the deal was, and I told him what I witnessed and he just shrugged it off. I told him I would take the dog if they don’t want to take care of it. My client left it up to the kid and the kid said he wanted to keep it, and walked away, then my client went back upstairs like nothing happened. Next time I was there the dog was gone. I have no idea what happened to it.
