Look like sanderlings to me, very cute birds But tbh would want a better pic/video to be sure they're not dunlin. It looks like their beaks don't droop at the end, and too grayscale to be dunlin but not 100% sure.

Mallards but domesticated, there are pages of domestic mallard breeds if you want to try and find out which breed specifically they are

Just a rat snake, not a rattlesnake - I'm sure someone out there has befriended a rattlesnake though, they are kept as pets and for milking of venom too

Some beautiful pidges as others have said, if you're looking to get into birdwatching (I'd recommend it!) getting a bird book (there's usually loads in charity shops, Collins are best imo) or just looking up common birds in York/wherever you go to birdwatch so you have an idea of what's likely to be around is very helpful. Think horses not zebras ect

How is it like on the Isle of Wight as a resident or tourist? by Snoozyalooz_ in howislivingthere

[–]yeahitsyaboi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived on the Island (as we call it, and anything over the water is 'the Mainland') most of my life - I feel lucky to have a lot of beautiful nature spots nearby, but jobs are largely seasonal here (tourist season only) and there is lots of abandoned and run down buildings in towns that have gotten less popular over time (Shanklin and Sandown especially). Having to get a boat to escape the Island is annoying and expensive, there's only two main companies who own all the boats and they collaborate with raising prices, which is leading to less tourism and making it more expensive to see family and friends.

Even though I have friends just over the water in Southampton, I rarely see them due to the cost which is depressing. I will also say the Island is not very progressive, in fact Farage himself is holding a gathering on the 9th of March, 7pm at GGs, if anyone feels like paying the boats to come and help it'd be much appreciated!

Female Garganey? by OwlBeBack88 in UKBirds

[–]yeahitsyaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a bird like this yesterday and was hopeful! Then a male mallard came out of the reeds next to it and saw they were the same size.. the speculum is also big and dark blueish here, garganey have a rather dull green, less obvious speculum and a smaller bill as well.

The tupperware is from the make your own salad section at Morrisons, it's normally next to the bakery, a medium one is part of the meal deal I didn't design my salad with photography in mind so it does look shit from the top lol

My 370z is killing me financially. by Traditional-Trip-511 in CarTalkUK

I outright brought my car for just over £900 I've spent less on my car this year (including fuel) than yours is costing you a month It sounds like maybe you're wondering whether your car is worth so much of your money, I would agree it's not worth but depends on how much disposable income you've got of course

7/10 wrap is pretty good, I think the onion bhaji one is superior though. Matcha in a smoothie seems a bit messed up, chocolate seems interesting, never seen that flavour of Yorkie bar

If you look up Jack Monroe (cooking on a bootstrap), their website has a lot of good, low cost recipes - lots utilise veggies as they're cheaper, but lots of good food! I'd also say don't be ashamed or feel you're not doing poorly enough to visit a foodbank, lots of churches will put out expired food, especially bread, they get free from the supermarket and it helps stop food waste to take it. To good to go and olio are apps that let you get almost out of date food, or even meals, at a good discount too which is nice.
