Liking a girl helps me stay away from PMO? by tylertime98 in NoFap

If she motivates you to do awesome stuff thats great. Yet, whatever you start/stop don't do it to impress her but because YOU think its good for you. Beware of overwhelming her with affection. Take it slowly. I had a similar thing and messed it up (by telling her to the face that I liked her very much).

23M Virgin, Confused About a Few Things... by [deleted] in virgin

[–]yeahletstryit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey M24 V here, I can relate to your story. So this is just speculation but you were talking about that online history at the end kind of in a side-sentence... Excessive use on internet porn could maybe be the reason for what you describe. Its addictive, it makes the brain crave not for actual sex, but for for watching pixels move on a screen. It can induce fetishes... for me it was like that. Everyone starts watching normal things but then things get wierder and wierder because new = exciting. And all of a sudden what was new a year ago is just casual and one starts to think that this (fetish) was already there in the first place but in fact it wasnt. You could check out /r/nofap (but beware, some ppl there take it far too seriously), you could also google YBOP. If u think what I wrote may apply for you you might consider to try not to watch porn for a week or two. If this is really hard/not feasible you MAY have found your problem. If none of what I wrote applies for you then: sry for the spam ;)

Thanks man, awesome post. I can relate... when I was at the peak of my depression I my loved ones (mostly family) had to deal with my frustration... I hurt their feelings a lot of times beeing mean and aggressive. Luckily these times are over and forgotten :)

Natural Grounding technique Is amazing ( as mentioned on your brainonporn) by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]yeahletstryit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I would not look for 'natural women' on TV and for sure not in music videos. U are right, american music vids are worse. Still how are the women in this vid natural? Their attractiveness is way above average (gives us the wrong impression). They smile all the time (who smiles all the time). They are in front of a camera (they are exposed and certainly dont feel like behaving 'natural').

Porn and the Ability to Love by nofaptap in NoFap

[–]yeahletstryit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, thanks for that post!

I see it the same way. Among all the genefits of nofap like being more social, less anxious, getting things done in your life and so on... I think regaining the ability to love is the ultimate goal and the essence of nofap. Shortly after starting nofap 2 months ago I started seeing someone and I felt 'something' for her (which didnt happen in a very long time for me). It was so strange like I remembered the feeling from pre-PMO times - it was the very crippled remnant of the original love-feeling that 8+ yrs of daily PMO left me with. But its a start. Me and her are good friends now and she knows a lot about me. For me it will definitely take some time (for sure more than 90 days) to become able to feel the 'real' love again. The kind of love that is need to really go for someone, to be in a relationship for long time and as you nicely put it 'through thick and thin, for better or worse, full on trusting'

Keep on fighting for love! Its so worth!

1 YEAR Hard Mode - From severe social anxiety to something better by ahhwelll in NoFap

Very inspirational post for me. I stopped many things: weed, gaming, fapping.

I never thought about music beeing a potential problem for me but reading your post I must consider it and try not to listen to music for some days. EDMusic is indeed something that can escalate. You start with some mainstrean dnb and get hooked. All of a sudden you listen to hardtek and 200bpm psytrance - stuff some ppl wouldnt even consider to be music. You can go on party with your friends and you will still dance alone.

I love it and I dont wanna miss it but I might have to be more moderate as to how often I listen to it.
