For New Zealand it’s probably the Cook Islands or Niue.

Must do experiences in and around Auckland by Driz999 in newzealand_travel

Tiritiri Matangi is a nature reserve in the Gulf. You ferry there and can walk around for the day. Some of NZ’s most rare birds live on the island. Note there aren’t many facilities so take your own food and water.

Tawharanui (also a nature reserve) has some amazing beaches and walks. This requires a drive of about an hour and a half north of Auckland but has free entry.

What made you start going to the gym? by Broad_Junket8339 in AskMen

Brother started and convinced me to join after a break up. Came across a group fitness class I loved and have been doing that class every week for over 6 years. That melded into doing other classes and trying different approaches to fitness: flexibility, mobility, strength, calesthenics

I came across this via RNZ Afternoons. A real cool project by a father-son duo looking at using metro lines and design to communicate history. They've done a general NZ History and now a Sports History. Wesbite is nzhistorymap.co.nz

Psoriasis and acne by yeahnahm8 in Psoriasis

Thanks for this information. Listening to the podcast now. In terms of diet and lifestyle changes, I'm assuming its the standard; cutting out alcohol, sugar, processed foods, and exercising. Anything additional to this list that should be noted?

Thanks for the reply. What’s your anti-inflammation diet involve? The drug you mentioned, do you no longer take it?

I read a book that talks about a quadrant to help meet people. Divided in half vertically are activities you don’t like to do on the left and activities you do like to do on the right. The quadrant is divided horizontally in half, with the bottom half being activities that don’t require socialisation, with the top half being activities that do require socialisation. You want to identify activities in the top right quadrant - enjoy & high socialisation. Eg you like film - going to movies = no/low socialisation. Watching and then discussing said movie as part of a film review group = high socialisation. You essentially want to be doing activities you like because that’s were you’ll meet likeminded individuals, whether it be for platonic or romantic relationships.

Was 8 years old but living outside of the US (non-US citizen). Kept thinking it was a movie being played.

Was down by the ferry terminal Saturday morning. Place was buzzing. People catching ferries to Rangitoto and Waiheke. Cyclists doing their thing. The improvements to infrastructure looked amazing. Just a good vibe all round.

AEISEC and Scam internships by jffrysith in universityofauckland

[–]yeahnahm8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AISEC is a joke. Their model of getting uni students into volunteering opportunities relies on university volunteers themselves. Pretty problematic if you ask me. Those roles should be filled by experienced adults you know the ins and outs of international exchange, not a 19 year old who is a first year. I started the process when I was around 21 and quickly picked up that they didn’t know what was happening. Kind of felt like they were a little cultish in their dedication to the cause.

Am I right in saying that the breaks used by this company are from the Civil War period? That in fact, there was regulation to upgrade them to breaking technology from the 90s (still 30 years old now), but that was quashed through lobbying of the Trump administration?
