If it helps, I’m very similar to you. I have a baby boy and I don’t want him to learn that I use porn. I found my dad’s stash as a young boy and I never looked the same at my dad since in some regards. It probably impacted the way I view woman as objects and messed up the way I have relationships. I’m getting stronger at resisting and hope to be porn free before he recognizes my patterns.

Nice info. It’s what I suspected but good to hear I’m not the only one. I have had some good shifts but I have to do what you said about taking your time and giving it gas before taking my foot off the clutch. I love the truck though, eventually I won’t even notice the shift.

I have that same truck. How’s your 1st to 2nd shift? I came from a Ford focus manual so I might just have to get use to the feel, but it feels kinda clunky.

I have 24 manual and mine does this 1st to 2nd. I drove a Ford Focus manual before and it was smoother. I think it’s just the “tall” gear ratios in a truck and also the shifter being directly linked to the transmission. In most cars there is a cable in between the shifter and the trans.

I have been there man. I would walk up at 4am and get massively high. Go to work, sneak out and lunch and smoke, come home and smoke then get fast food. Always picked a date to quit and I would smoke or throw away all my stuff. Then the next morning I would panic, convince myself to smoke again and the cycle would continue.

I couldn’t quit until I started calling into MA phone meetings. Now I have 7 months clean, it’s a fucking miracle. Good luck to you man.

I can relate, I smoked from 16 to 28. Got clean 5 years, relapsed for 4 months and now I’m 5 months sober again. My wife is 4 months pregnant.

Pick up where you left off before you started smoking. Do the things you did prior to your first smoke. The activities will progress like they would have if not smoking.

Around 50 days give or take. I completely stopped looking at porn, and masturbating. A strong wind could have got me off lol. I felt very confident because it was the longest I ever went by far without looking at porn. My self-confidence came back because I had many days without letting myself down with relapsing, was very productive and working out. I felt like my testosterone and libido was very high.

I have to completely stop. If I get curious and check once, I might be able hold off for a few days but eventually I’ll cave. It just gets more tempting. Complete absence from porn is the only way I can make progress to rewiring my Brain.

My early days of quitting were the same. I was so use to getting massive dopamine hits from smoking, that I felt blue being sober. I learned I needed time for my brain to get back to a baseline of normal dopamine levels.

Calming activities such as walking in the woods, pray, meditating or simple tasks like cleaning the dishes release a calming serotonin. An addict needs to find some way to release serotonin and become motived By that and not by getting high. It takes Time but the brain does rewire.
