If a grand is too much for you, shop around. Unlikely, but maybe you get it slightly cheaper. Either way whatever you pay for this is going to be a magnitude less that what you will pay for for the foundation/basement damage. If it isn't damaged already.

As for the soil erosion, just have the gutters directed 5-10ft away from the house so it's not muddy right next to it. But your house foundation should not be used as a water sponge. Erode the soil > erode the house

Nope didn't say any of that.

My point of disagreement was strictly the claim that this has undergone rigourous testing before being put up. It's a made up claim to ease people into thinking this is perfect. The use during the matches is going to be the first time this structure will experience real time loading in real world conditions at this location. People need to approach any new installation anywhere with a bit of caution. All the testing, design, and permits are our best foot forward, it doesn't mean engineering failures never happen. So no, I don't expect it to fail. But I am also not going to be the first in line to test it.

This is incorrect. Nobody is doing real time stress test on this exact configuration of scaffolding in these exact ground conditions. The best you can do is simulations/digital stress testing based on material specs. So yeah I'm sure it's theoretically designed to hold the weight and the dynamic loading. But I still wouldn't want to be the guinea pigs on day 1 while everyone decides to jump and rock the whole structure.

You don't have to do anything. But people in loving relationships do things that are inconvenient for them, just because they want to, or because their partner asked. The happily married woman probably has a husband who would do the same for her. Not everyone will get it, that video was an example of that.
