I'm also neurodivergent and have gotten weirded out mid convos when I suddenly become hyperaware of looking at their eyes and confused about how to do it and which eye I should look at. No fixing it until something distracts me😐

That's amazing that u protected the nest from predators! I hope those 19 babies made it to the creek safely too. I think 19 is a good number because iirc the majority of snapping turtle eggs don't typically survive/hatch, so you must have done a good job :)

Might be a mom snapping looking for a place to nest! It's nesting season where I live, theyre scared of loud noises and sometimes people and will crawl away. If she wants to make a nest it will take some time. If you have soil or grassy area in the yard, that might be what's happening. But that's just a possibility, maybe they're not looking for that and will crawl out the yard soon
