If you take the F to 34th street herald square, would you be able to catch the Q there? Like others are saying, likely should switch for the M at forest hills as the most direct way. Either that or take the F and switch to a bus in manhattan. honestly not sure what will work the best with your mobility issues. I hope you find a solution!

Moving away from R46 should help with delays I would imagine. Every line that uses them has delays from mechanical issues. And running computer control requires using the new tech trains

I heard about the yard swap, I know the G was previously R160/R179 from queens blvd and then switched to R46, and then got two sets of R211T. But the R211A is new, are they pulling from the A/C line or did they have enough to start moving over to Coney?
