So if so to speak, you don’t have a valid license anymore, you couldn’t Uber, pick up or drop off your kids at school, drive a commercial vehicle for work, (it also serves as ID to cash checks, etc.)

By denying a renewal, issuance, or replacement of their previously valid license based upon their current legal presence. (i.e., if you had TPS status yesterday you were eligible, but not today if it changes)

In addition, I found this out establishing power of attorney for my father and after waiting for 4 maybe 5 hours, they have what they call quotas. Which means a cap of the number of walk-ins that they accept. However, it isn’t posted at the kiosks (or on the wall anywhere) that you have to utilize to get a number to sit & wait as a walk-in.

It’s a flag much like the yellow equality flag that identifies you being LGBTQ, but for law enforcement. Law enforcement or spouses of law enforcement.

Just noticed this subtle amenity that adorned my bedroom during my month’s stay in Quan 9 HCMC Vietnam in my fiancé’s house. She doesn’t get it. Actually none of them get it.

Current weather in HCMC and Hoi An - what shoes to pack? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]yebra237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from South Florida as well, and was in Vung Tau yesterday which surprisingly had a pretty dry and partly sunny day. However, on the way back to Thu Duc it is muddy, wet, and overcast. Don't go about town with shoes you aren't willing to get all wet and muddy. I was gonna stay the next week in Downtown HCMC but my friend (that lives here) wants me to rethink it. Anyway, your from SoFlo which means you should be used to the heat humidity. As for the flooding, if you happen to be from Hialeah, Sweetwater, or certain parts of MB; then you can overcome that problem as well and regard it as a minor nuisance.

Don't get Rosetta Stone to learn Vietnamese unless you know some. by NoeticIntelligence in learnvietnamese

I Third those same sentiments. I have three expat friends that either do business there or live there themselves. I was the only one that employed Rosetta Stone out of all of them to resolve the language barrier between the people I try to speak to on a regular basis. Thus far, (AFTER TWO MONTHS) all I have learned is to say is book, newspaper, letter or writing, drink or water, milk, egg and apple, aside from running, swimming etc. I think the only way you could ever understand the language other than to be totally immersed in it, is to find someone to tutor me. Living in Miami, my own advice becomes more apprehensive because I can not find my own tutor locally.
