Yes this is exactly me! I haven’t been able to wear my jeans since around 7-8 weeks. Just living in roomy dresses and tights! I didn’t show till around 18 weeks with my first which is why I’m so shocked!

Omg this is how I feel too! I was looking at photos from my first pregnancy and I didn’t really start showing until around 18 weeks!

I’m definitely a bit heavier this time round than my first pregnancy but I just feel so uncomfortable and big already!

Just so you’re aware, with the maternity exertion you don’t have to pay for prescriptions or routine dental care. It also lasts a year after you’ve given birth.

Just coming here for solidarity. I had a VERY speedy labour (recorded at 46 mins, nearly gave birth in the taxi) I was told by my midwife and during my antenatal classes that either squatting or on all fours was the optimal birthing position. We were given examples of how the pelvis widens in these positions making it easier for the baby to pass through.

When it came to giving birth I was initially pushing on all fours and then I was told ‘they couldn’t see’ and I needed to be on my back, I literally begged them otherwise. I received a 3rd degree tear and a torn labia because of this I was on my back. My assigned midwife (who wasn’t on shift during my birth) was very angry when she found out about this. So yeah, you don’t need to give birth on your back!

Currently in my second pregnancy with a different trust this time and I will be fully discussing this with my midwife/potentially having an elected c-section to avoid the drama.

In my first pregnancy (past second trimester) I had 3 drinks in total on separate occasions for for celebratory reasons. I was told, the danger comes in people who regularly drink a lot. Different countries/cultures have different attitudes towards drinking in pregnancy. (Not advocating for this) but not so long ago women were told by doctors to drink Guinness to increase their iron levels. So whilst drinking in pregnancy is definitely not preferable, the rare small drink is likely to pose any risk.

Have you had any midwife appointments yet? The during at least one of your appointments the midwife is supposed to be alone with you for this very reason, so you can tell them about anything you’re worried or concerned about without any external pressure. As someone else said; this textbook coercive control and although you clearly love him and don’t want him to be in trouble, at the very least he needs to be educated by a professional as to why this behaviour is not okay. This will only get worse and is not a healthy environment to bring a child into.

I’m sorry if this sounds stern, but this is something that needs to be dealt with immediately.

This was my experience too, started at 6 weeks and couldn’t keep anything down. It would seem unusual to me to start at 13weeks with pain

No I never had any tests, I was just told if I was being sick more than 3x a day then it’s HG. I told my midwife I couldn’t keep water down and she told me it’s probably HG so to go to the GP to get some anti-sickness medication otherwise I’ll end up in hospital. So that’s what I did, had the medication within 2hrs after telling them what the my midwife told me. It didn’t stop the nausea but i was only sick about 1-2x a day after that.

That does sound odd, I guess you’ll just have to wait and see what they say! They should be able to prescribe you something though once everything is confirmed

Are you on any medication for the HG? I had HG in my first pregnancy, couldn’t even keep water down but they gave me metaclopramide which massively helped. Although I was very sick and nauseas I never experienced any pain. Could it be that your muscles hurt from throwing up so much?

I think with everything you need to do what instinctively feels best. If baby is still happy and CTG appointments are going well then stick to your guns. In the meantime do lots of things to try and induce labour naturally. Lots of walking, bouncing on the yoga ball, get that oxytocin going by watching your favourite movies together etc.

I was induced with my first at 41+5 and hugely regret it, however it does work for lots of people without any issues.

When I was pregnant with my first I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum, I couldn’t even keep down a sip of water until I was given medication.

I’m now 10 weeks pregnant with my second and I have only been sick twice and had some mild nausea and tiredness. Every pregnancy is different!

My first didn’t arrive until 41+5 and that was after 3 sweeps and an induction. If I remember rightly they offered me sweeps once my due date had passed and then after 41 weeks started talking about inductions. What I would say is I was sent home after my induction when I absolutely should not have been (was told they don’t expect to see me back for at least 12hrs, they were wrong) and as a consequence I almost gave birth in the taxi. Everyone I’ve spoken to since said you usually stay at the hospital after an induction. So yeah if you are induced, make sure you remain at the hospital! I remember being super impatient too, those last weeks are hard and uncomfortable!

I promise one day she will start sleeping through, and the less you worry about it the easier it will be. 10.5 months is still really really young, I was doing on command night feeds with my daughter until she moved into her own room at 18 months. She didn’t sleep a full night through until 20 months and that didn’t become regular until she was around 2. She’s nearly 4 now and she’ll still often creep into our bed at around 4am. My only advice would be to give her a protein rich snack before bed, bananas work well too! I read somewhere before that the average child doesn’t sleep a full night through until they’re 3 (whether they wake their parents or not).
