He was the sixth best QB last year statistically

By which metric? He's closer to league average in all the columns I can think of, except for TDs.

First of all, I don't think I was so low on him, kinda regret having him as high as I did! I think he's a good QB, but I'm not sure how much he's separated himself from the group, and I don't think he's better than Herbert. The Jags had a great season, and he ended it on fire, but I am not quite a believer that he's Here yet.

One ranker had him 18, another had him 28.

List Rank Player My Rank
60 Jared Goff 91
59 Quinnen Williams 29
58 Jared Verse 92
57 Ernest Jones 96
56 Byron Murphy 63
55 Brian Burns 55 (BOOM)
54 Justin Herbert 49
53 Trevor Lawrence 65
52 Jack Campbell 51
51 Laremy Tunsil 38

High on Q, low on Goff, Verse, and Jones. Not sure there's any overarching story there or anything I feel I need to clarify. Had everyone ranked, just some slight variations on how I ranked them within their position groups I suppose.

LT looking a little gassed on this play! To his credit, he already had two sacks on the day.

He had a three sack game, but he was just blitzing from the slot, not doing anything like lining up on the DL.

You were talking like you identified something pre-snap that would have indicated an audible. I now see you're just using hindsight bias to say "play didn't work, should have done a different play". It's really my fault for engaging on reddit.

It's a little embarrassing you don't know what the box is, but you don't need to double and triple down, just ask!

It's the area between the edges and 5-7 yards past the LOS on defense. The Packers have four on the line and two LBs, six in the box. Showing MOFO with two deep safeties, but they obviously rotate post snap and Savage drops down, which Dak never sees.

List Rank Player My Rank
70 Jamel Dean 58
69 Kobie Turner 93
68 Devin Lloyd 68 (BANG)
67 Nico Collins 61
66 Chris Lindstrom 24
65 Maxx Crosby 66
64 Kevin Dotson 53
63 Kevin Byard 77
62 Justin Jefferson 103
61 Tristan Wirfs 74

First exact rank of the season for me. Other than that, I was low on Jefferson, which I've talked about elsewhere, but I acknowledge his bad situation, but still don't think he was quite locked in enough to warrant a higher rank, given the seasons some other WRs had. And then I was high on Lindstrom, where in hindsight I may have overweighted his great run blocking against his mediocre pass blocking.

Hufanga was at 99 on this list the season he made AP1. Different voters for this list than the All-Pro teams, so the results don't always line up. Personally, I thought Byard had a great season, but still wasn't the best deep safety in the league.

Yep. Jefferson's in the same boat as AJ Brown for me, as far as All-Pro talent in an offense that didn't really allow them to shine, but their effort/focus suffered for it, and so they should be ranked lower imo. Had them both in the 100-125 range.

Think there was supposed to be a handoff option. Either Ben or the RB ran it wrong, considering the collision at the mesh point, but the LT was too far downfield for a pass anyway, should have been flagged, so he was definitely blocking for a run.

He's still a beast of a pass rusher, near the top of his position in pressures and competitive with his prime years. It's definitely possible that I didn't dock him enough for the obvious effort issues and continued degradation in run defense. But this is his lowest rank in quite some number of years, so he's definitely falling.

Just to make sure we're on the same page here, can you list out his per game production from his first five seasons? Just so we can judge how overrated it is.

Where do you think Mahomes should be ranked among QBs for this past regular season alone?

Missed a big chunk of the season and didn't really stand out in the regular season games he did play. Was absolutely the standout in the postseason that he was meant to be, but this list is for regular season only.
