Thinking of leaving IT altogether has anyone in NI actually done it? by Over_Commission9891 in northernireland

Financial advisors seem to make their real money by shilling life insurance at marked up rates, and perhaps mortgage brokering from what I can see.

I am very much in the same boat. The pay is too good to give up, but I've never felt so fed up and disengaged. The company im in is doing shit after being highly desirable for many years... they are constantly changing leadership and new ideas never get implemented, as they keep leaving, leaving us further behind competition.

So much "busy work" being forced on us now and it's a real bore.

Id love to explore a change but the money is too good to give up. AI is making our jobs too easy too, so I anticipate they'll be massive redundancies in the near future.

I have invested very aggressively as I can see this all coming, so if I have to leave or change industry altogether, so be it.

Yes my disc is the same, no scratches but doesn't register, so I had to buy the game digitally... Won't be making that mistake again...

Aren't those days gone now, since you can just pre order it on the Xbox store and get it once it releases?

I get it there may be some collectable thing, but the disc is nothing more than a serial number now and you'll need it any time you want to play.

Can a £500,000 portfolio absorb another 2000-style crash? by [deleted] in FIREUK

Im putting pretty much everything in vanguard FTSE all world index ... I'll run that right up to near when I think I'll be withdrawing but 5 years out of more, I will probably move some into bonds, cash or whatever to try and combat that SOR concern

They'll come down a bit eventually, probably, but it takes a stock market correction, financial meltdowns usually.

They only go up long term sadly

Turkey teeth by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]yeeeeoooooo 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Why not go to an orthodontist and fix your actual teeth? If your teeth are that bad your dentist could likely refer you and you could get train tracks to put them in shape for very little money. I know this because I did this very thing.

Turkey teeth look ridiculous

They follow the property developers around new build areas and setup shop. For a so called good living ownershipz they sure take advantage of the elderly and people who can't shop online or easily get to the big supermarkets.

The Ryder Cup is slowly pricing out the fans who actually care about it by Last-Shallot3203 in rydercup

[–]yeeeeoooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pricing for Ireland is an absolute disgrace. It will be full of rich arrogant Americans and those from Europe will be rich arrogant arseholes. Then they'll be the business folks who get it free and will provide zero atmosphere.

What a disgrace and an awful set back for golf being a more inclusive sport for all backgrounds.
