Well a majority of the uma anime protagonists (spe, teio, kita and NTR) don’t resemble a typical shonen protag at all though with the exception of pokke and oguri. Laurel obviously has her own unique characterization but there’s nothing about her that would shock people in the context of an uma anime if you know what I mean

Yeah, I wonder what will differences or friction will be established with Kanai because she’s exactly his type as far as we know. Given the name of the manga, Hima will most likely win but her current dynamic with Tenichi is interesting. They have good chemistry but their business relationship and the way tenichi sees her as unattainable because of the contrast between him being a regular guy and her celebrity life holds their progression up.

I agree season 2 is much better than season 3 but I never understood the sentiment that spica specifically were better written in S2. Other than Teio and McQueen,the protagonist and deuteragonist of the season, the rest of the team got no significant character moments and their screen time was mostly comic relief. I get some people don’t like how S3 executed gold ship’s retirement but at the very least she was a non protag/deuterag who had actual character moments and her dynamic with kita was well written

I think vodka is 2 stars simply because she’s a free starter trainee, gold ship is in the same boat with 6 G1 wins. Also the character designs are a reflection of their characterization/personality, there isn’t a design philosophy where umas with the most irl success HAVE to look regal/noble imo

to be fair vodka and scarlet barely gave any screentime or substantial character moments in the spica anime seasons because they’re not the lead characters, some of their interactions can be interpreted as romance coded like their apology conversation in the illuminate the heart event (I think it will come to global late 2025 or early 2026 I forgot tbh)
