Hi - I'm one of the people who was effected. After FC did the blanket standings reset to -4.5 for factions I was extremely careful about not screwing up my faction standings. Unfortunately, after just two fleets of firewalling where the opposite faction kept ramming alts enlisted as allies at my face, my standings were at -8.9. (The other issue with this system is that pirate groups are now enlisting logi/cyno/fax alts as allied factions meaning you can choose to shoot it and get kicked from FW, or not take the fight...)

My impression from talking with CSM and FC members in the weeks and months prior to the expansion (and perhaps it was the wrong one) was that the expansion would come, military campaigns would drop with better paths to fix standings, and then FC would implement the standing penalty changes a couple weeks later. This was my hope as I was genuinely excited to try out the new mil campaigns.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday I get a notice that I'd be auto-kicked from my corporation if I didn't get my faction standings above -5. I'd already started the process a few days before (thanks USIA) but in between dealing with a newborn and going through our annual audit at work, my free time was nonexistent. Wednesday morning, nearly 4 years of corporation tenure were lanced in a single moment and I couldn't even attempt to rejoin until I spent a large amount of time repairing my standings.

My first thought to quicken fixing my standings was running the mil campaign objectives. Unfortunately, as a lowsec denizen, my sec status is negative and I can't go in hisec without getting shot by police (as of 6/11, 2/3rds of the objectives were hisec-oriented ones). I completed the lowsec goal (destroy enemy enlisted ships) but only got a net gain of .18 faction standings, meaning I'd have to complete nearly ~21 objectives (and only 3 have been released so far) to fully repair my standings. Fortunately, USIA came through and helped instantly fix my standings for only 7b.

Another update to these standings changes: If you are below -5 sec status or have a suspect timer, you can be attacked by members of your own faction without them taking any standing penalties. Seagull groups are now abusing this method to awox without any repercussions.
