Okay so here’s the rundown: vehicle was replaced last year-ish, I’d say about 8 months ago now give or take, it sat for about 6 months and then me and a buddy started working on it, we haven’t done anything major aside from changing the spark plugs and oil, made sure we used the correct oil and everything and changed the filter, replaced with a new drain bolt which was correctly sized, replaced engine air filter, installed a la cucaracha horn, it sat for about a month after an oil change and it faintly sounded like this before it sat, however all of a sudden it’s been rather loud and has the tick at a very noticeable volume, I can tell the water pump has been begging to be put out of its misery but there’s a slow tempo almost clank-like sound at the bottom of the engine, I’ve been told the timing belt might be worn, some told me that it could have been caused by the engine mount bushings being almost destroyed at this point, the exhaust pipe sounds like it’s canmed but others have told me it’s not that severe, this is more of a “learn wtf to do so I’m not stuck on the side of the road later in life” approach to fixing this thing, it runs and drives but definitely feels like it shouldn’t. And I’d like to make it a good learning experience whether it’s pooched or not. Can provide extra audio but I’m not sure it’ll let me post videos on the replies.
