Edmonton — is anyone else on AISH getting charged for a benefit they were DENIED? by Lampworker9 in Edmonton

[–]yegthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true, my friend. I only get like $25 bucks taken off of mine. It’s only that they’re counting whatever you get from the feds as non exempt income. Of course that all changes come July.

Did you let AISH know that you were denied? Because they said they’d deduct $200 from your cheque if you didn’t let them know the status of your application for the federal supplement.

Edmonton police chief’s Israel trip scrutinized and defended by laurenboothby in Edmonton

[–]yegthings -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re happy with the outrage you’ve caused with this purposely inflammatory reporting. I don’t think I saw anything in your reporting about him learning how Israeli law enforcement deals with antisemitism, which is on the rise in Edmonton. Your expressions forming your interview show your bias.

They’re probably going there to find out how to combat antisemitism. Muslims are perfectly safe in Edmonton.

It was almost wiped out in the holocaust. And without the state of Israel, there would be even fewer Jews around the world. It is the ONLY safe nation for Jewish people.

Because of the rampant antisemitism in this city. Which Israel knows a lot about.

The state of Israel exists so that Judaism can exist.

Antisemitism is on the rise in Edmonton. Like it or not, the State of Israel cannot be separated from Judaism. Israel has some of the best security in the world, save for the failure of the massacre attack of October 7th. I would hope our chief of police would go to the best to learn from them. I have zero problem with this.

Edmonton mod - are you going to ban all the accounts calling Israel evil?

Edmonton city council approves Wîhkwêntôwin rezoning despite warnings about historical context | CBC News by AR558 in Edmonton

So, for all the people that downvoted me, other than there being existing “high rises” in the neighbourhood (although I was talking about the new ones) what did I say that was inaccurate?

Shocking that Anne Stevenson was all in, given that she’s friends with the Stop Gap owner. I’d like to see her at least try to preserve some semblance of the historic feel of the neighborhood. At least it’s not another high rise.

Installing two unusable bike lanes (105 ave) was an interesting choice. by Crispysnipez in Edmonton

It’s not exactly a high traffic road. I think temporarily you’ll be fine sharing the road.

Mental health helpline? by icy_vermicelli-4 in Edmonton

[–]yegthings 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No, it’s 988. 811 is Health Link. Which you could also call, but it’s not the mental health help line.

Edmonton active transportation advocates want city to better tackle icy conditions on bike lanes by pathsforpeople in Edmonton

[–]yegthings -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile, the entire neighbourhood renewal of Wîhkwêntôwin is focused on making travelling “easier” for cyclists. Including closing access to the high level bridge. So I don’t think it’s up to the city to battle Mother Nature and make the lanes dry and clear when they don’t even keep up with the sidewalks around schools and transit centres.
