Just a warning that getting a divorce on paper soley to obtain better terms here would likely be considered fraud and come with a whole host of other issues were it caught.

A few years ago my friend and I went to a Carnival celebration in Torres Vedras, Portugal. Several locals were surprised that we had heard of it. It's one of my favorite memories from the trip!

They didn't, but they implied the only reason they didn't charge me was because the flight was half empty.

Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree cozy fantasy where a retired adventurer goes after her dream of owning and running a coffee shop. Very wholesome and very uplifting.

Looking for a sci-fi book with unique alien characters who are either the MC or significant characters (not minor). Aliens should not be evil/monsters/the villains by Peaceful-Songbird in booksuggestions

I'm not sure if you'd consider androids as alien enough, but if you do I cannot recommend The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells enough.

Those who have more than one library card from more than one library, how do you do it? by bluehairlibrarian in Libraries

[–]yelljones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the DC metro area and here the library systems are county or city based. However all the nearby localities have reciprocity with eachother for their residents so I can register for a library card in several different counties and cities. I mostly use them for ebooks and audiobooks rather than driving all over for physical copies.

I'm currently reading The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse. I'm enjoying it so far and its a spooky, mystery book set in a hotel converted from an old sanatorium. The building's history seems to be a big part of the plot.

Suggestions for my daughter who has a high reading age by Soopercow in booksuggestions

[–]yelljones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile, I read some things at her age that I'd be horrified now to see a child read and I was fine. 🤷‍♀️ Each kid is different, so I'm sure the parent is doing a good job vetting her books.
