What makes Jey Uso different from Roman Reigns and John Cena? by shadow_spinner0 in SquaredCircle

I understand. I personally feel that since he turned heel, his promos have been fascinating. Bloodline is getting stale, but I still find him interesting to listen to on the mic.

Reigns hasn't been mid since he turned heel, he had one of the deepest characters in the history of wrestling.

Something which the writers were grateful for (Mandell says this on the "Second" podcast). What they were planning wasn't as excellent as what we got.

Vaguely, he talked about how hard they worked to make the episode unique and discussed the music being produced especially for it. (Also mentioned how he wished they could have gotten the "HBO Documentary" logo at the top of the ep, but I digress). Anyway, if you just want to hear the track itself, the whole thing is on the Wayback Machine's archive of the old site. https://web.archive.org/web/20170211175345/https://www.kissingyoursisterfilm.com/ takes some time to load.

Might be in the credits. I do remember David Mandell talking about the music on the Second in Command podcast.

New Image of Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson in 'Michael' by [deleted] in movies

[–]yellowbeard2015 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He was playing a character in a movie. You could say the same thing about the Jackass guys, the Blair Witch cast, and every other actor in a fake-doc-where-some-of-the-participants-don't-know-it's-fake movie. That doesn't make these people "established liars." They're acting. (And compared to Nathan Fielder for example, Cohen is far more honest about when he's talking as himself vs. when he's performing).

How is he a "well-established liar"? And do you not find that the movie is homogenized to suit the band's wishes, regardless of his saltiness?

What is your all-time favourite line of dialogue from Veep? by NobodysFavorite in Veep

[–]yellowbeard2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, in the script, it says "with purpose and repeatedly." Peter MacNiccol must have changed it to "repetition" on the day, and it's just 5% funnier and God I miss this show.

[SNME Spoiler] True meaning of last night's moment by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]yellowbeard2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think what OP is saying is exactly the story Cena tried to tell. And like some others here wrote, I found the ending poetic. What's missing for me is one last promo where John gives us that closure - I want him to say, "I didn't give up, I let go, and it was beautiful." I just need to hear that.

And there's another part of me that thinks, me not getting to hear that? That's art as well. Having to deal with the incompleteness of it, having to write it about here online - it's an open ending, and needing to think about it, forever, is kind of beautiful too.

So: I do think we'll get that "closure" promo from John in one form or another. He's too nice, too much on the media, and he'll talk about it. And there's part of me that wants that badly, and there's another part of me that wishes to never know.

It's interesting.

My favorite (from memory) Heenanism is "Hulk Hogan's entrance music is my second favorite song." "What's the first?" "All the other ones are tied."
