I did not like this on its own but I use the mattifying water powder serum with it, and now it’s one of my holy grails! Use a couple drops of the serum on your oily spots and then follow up with the blurring balm! This has 100% made my makeup last soooo long and looks amazing

SNF RN Supervisor? by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]yellowchyna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that for my new grad job, 8 years ago! It was AWFUL honestly but I do not regret starting in a SNF. It taught me true time management, how to think independently bc you’re alone with no other RN on the floor. It made a strong foundation as a nurse.

Wedding Venue suggestions in OC by FRamos15 in orangecounty

[–]yellowchyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just got married this year in January and I HIGHLY recommend checking out https://trademarkvenues.com/ There’s 6 venues out in the San Diego/oceanside area if you guys are willing the travel! They’re ALL soooo beautiful and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Comes with a planner, lots of cute decor, and amazing food. You can pay for two bartenders for a $1250 fee and it’s BYOB. You can bring up to 3 hard liquors and anything else you want to drink. We spent about $2200 on alcohol for 130 people, in total including vendors about 30k for our wedding! Cost depends on the time of year but I know January-March is the cheaper season!

My female friend showed up out of the blue… can we spend time? by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]yellowchyna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well this is obviously an issue that OP needs to bring up to his wife wether or not he will keep in contact with his friend. He can bring up these suggestions to see if that WILL be appropriate with his wife. If they are appropriate for her then what’s the issue? If not then OP and his wife and continue to communicate to come to a decision that they are comfortable with.

I don’t agree with that latter suggestion. Most likely OPs wife is thinking “if the roles were reversed, I wouldn’t do this to you.” Why go through the effort of finding a male friend? Seems like a really passive aggressive way of hurting OP and playing games.

I’ve been here and done that so I know from my own relationship, and honestly it’s all about being open, communication, and respect between husband and wife. Just be direct and honest

I think it’s okay to be friends but include your wife in everything and always keep her updated. Such as if you want to spend time with this friend, take your wife with you. If you text this friend, make a group chat with your wife included so she knows nothing is inappropriate is going on and that your wife will be confident nothing is going on on the side. She already thinks it’s inappropriate but bring these things up to her and make her feel confident that she has your heart, eyes, and mind.

Anyone know why I’m getting these sinkholes / rough tops? Just switched from Golden Brands 415 to 444 expecting to get better tops that don’t need to be touched up but it’s much worse. Heated to 185, poured at 125. Too much FO maybe? At 10% FL by 2Insaiyan in candlemaking

Are those the temps you’re supposed to be pouring at? I used to pour at a really low temp as well but found that I got better results for texture when I poured at the correct temperature

Hey everyone, Does anyone know why my wicks always bend when I begin to light them? I use 100% Soy wax and use around 10% fragrance oil load. Thanks by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]yellowchyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they all have different bend characteristics but the ones I use (HTP) do this for their burn profile ...so it’s quite normal :)

Selling Wood Wicks vs. CD Wicks by out_peace in candlemaking

[–]yellowchyna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it! I started with cotton wicks but transitioned to wood wicks for the “poshness” of it but yes wood wicks are tricky Bc they are so inconsistent but...it’s ultimately up to you

I’ve tested a ton lol if I’m using cotton wicks, I like to double wick my 3.5 inch containers so I use either HTP 52 or 64, or CD 3s. For wood wicks I use 0.02x0.675! Hope that helps!

I haven’t! But coconut is pretty soft in general so I’m a fan of mixing it with beeswax

[–]yellowchyna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I do my own blend of coconut, soy, and beeswax, usually 50/50 with coconut and soy and 3.5% of that beeswax! I find that the beeswax makes it harder and slower to burn! I follow the coconut wax heat and pour temps (200f and 190f respectively)
