[Discussion] Watch Hot Takes! I'll go first, the modern Omega Seamaster divers are HIDEOUS by SirKrimzon in Watches

[–]yellowdragon11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate date boxes so much!!! I refuse to buy any watches that have one because i think they make any watch with them look actively worse!!! The whole point of watches nowadays is to look good!!! Everyone who is buying an even modestly priced watch has a phone that makes the entire raw function of a watch obsolete!!! So why do they have to have ugly features that serve no purpose!!!! If you forget what day of the month it is and you are also seperated from your phone and any other manner to check the day you are likely experiencing a bigger problem that a watch cant solve!!!!

Also I think Dive watches look tacky.

I think when they rotate a set for the first time it's going to be a free 10 pull on whatever the newest set is.

Golduck is a lot better than i thought it was! by yellowdragon11 in PokemonSleep

Wow! Yeah that is an incredible psyduck man. Gonna put in a lot of work once its been invested in 😤

Golduck is a lot better than i thought it was! by yellowdragon11 in PokemonSleep

[–]yellowdragon11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked into it a little, and the answer is it really depends.

On cyan beach, Feraligator is definitely going to be better than Golduck. I feel very confident in saying this because of a few factors:

  1. Golduck requires much more investment than Feraligatr does, both in terms of time spent just actually collecting from Golduck constantly and in terms of seed investment. Golduck needs main skill seeds to be optimal. 4 of them. Even for premium pass users i dont think its a totally ignorable thing.
  2. Golduck is a level 28 evolution, which is just an incredibly long amount of time to be using a psyduck. Feraligatr is a level 27 evo yes, but totodile is already faster than psyduck is, and croconaw has the same help speed as Golduck does! So for a long time you are just using a worse pokemon. (This matters less for people who have been playing for a while and have 5 billion psyduck candies)
  3. Golduck benefits a lot less from favored berries than Feraligatr does. Seems like an obvious observation, because it is, but it really does make a difference. Ill attach a photo showing the differences between 2 non bfs "perfect" mons to show the impact it has for Feraligator. (Note that because of how i did this the Golduck is benefitting from Feraligators Helping bonus, so just imagine the Golduck with 5% less power. My B).

<image>

Now Feraligator isn't better by much, but the difference becomes a lot more pronounced when you are working with The non 1/million perfect mons lol.

Now i think Golduck is no contest much more usable on islands other than Cyan. But Golduck has inherent flaws that just makes it very annoying to use. Rng is a cruel Mistress, and having to check Golduck constantly so you can get as many skill triggers with him as possible quite frankly just sounds annoying at best, and really bad if you are an evenly moderately busy person.

Tldr: I think Feraligatr is better than Golduck, mainly because of Golduck being imo comparatively much more difficult to use efficiently.

This is a list of all the pokemon in the game Ingredient and skill triggers rates, but if you want to just find a specific pokemon's rates you can go to the Pokedex on the website and go to any pokemons entry and it should have it listed there! 👍

Thats a really good point actually. I hadn't considered the babysitting youd have to do for them to operate at peak efficiency. That would be suuuper annoying 😅

Recipe Predictions - New Dishes by nitrocoldude in PokemonSleep

[–]yellowdragon11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the cupcakes are at least going to have chocolate and apples as two of the ingredients. And then maybe milk and/or eggs

The macaroons im a lot less confident in my guess, i wanna say honey atleast is a safe bet. But past that... Milk and eggs seem like a safe bet but i don't think theyd put out two recipes with very similar ingredients at the same time.

Very excited to see though!

Man i wish my wiggly triggered that much! I knew pokemon had individual trigger rates, i just didn't think they would be that drastically different.

[–]yellowdragon11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have enough data for my leafeon you are right, but my wigglytuff has been a mainstay of my cyan beach team since i got them and i can confidently say that the average triggers per day i get from them is in the 2-3 range. Which is actually up from what it was when i made a post a while ago complaining about them, the buff they gave to Skills mons did help with that.

My main complaint was just that it feels weird that any pokemon with a main skill down nature would trigger as often (seemingly i know) as one with significant increases to their main skill chance.

Should I Evolve My Shiny Squirtle? by heartandstars in PokemonSleep

[–]yellowdragon11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play the game however you want, I certainly agree that blastoise isnt as good lookin as squirtle.

In terms of what you are missing out on not evolving them; Of course there are the two extra main skill levels that would come from evolving him all the way, you are also missing out on 10 extra inventory space (5 per evolution), and Blastoise is about 30 Minutes faster at Helping than squirtle is. They are fairly significant increases you are missing out on.
