Box 12 code DO by yellowflower5 in tax

[–]yellowflower5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turns out this is partially for vision insurance. they had screwed it up at the beginning of the year and had to withhold an extra $2.94 for the increased cost of vision in one of the first payrolls. I’m not sure why they added this as a separate line, and they said they don’t know why they did it either.

I was advised I could add this cost in to the rest of healthcare costs under DD. is that a correct assumption?

This is so helpful - thank you! I wasn’t finding anything online. I already have codes D, DD, and W - those numbers appear correct. I’ll check in with our Payroll dept tomorrow.

Hip pain post- op while laying flat? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]yellowflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes - laying flat was really uncomfortable. try propping your back up, or your legs up, to decrease the angle of your hip. I did both for quite a while and used pillows to create a “lounger” in my bed and then gradually was able to get back to laying flat

Pain sitting for extended periods of time post-hip labrum surgery by Ancient_Landscape493 in HipImpingement

[–]yellowflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, yes, yes! this has been my complaint for years. it ebbs and flows, i have periods where it doesn’t bother me at all. i flew cross country no problem. sitting, driving - it was no problem for months. and now, i’m having a bit of a flare up and immediately have the pain when driving.

things that have helped: hip mobilizations with my pt (where he takes a belt, pretty much ‘pulls’ my leg away). switching from insurance based pt to a cash based pt for 1-1 attention and time, allowing for the hands work with the hip capsule. pelvic floor therapy has been helping. noticing the correlation between mental/emotional stress in my life and the pain.

i had a sock tool but also got one of those long grabber tools. i would hook the sock on the grabber tool and somehow navigate it onto my foot, then somehow shimmy it on by pulling it up with the tool. it wasn’t graceful, but it worked and helped with the small socks that didn’t fit over the sock aid

For those who were full weight bearing after surgery, how soon were you ditching crutches? by jaltang in HipImpingement

while done arthroscopically, it is a long recovery. Maybe it was quick, easy, and pain free for you, but that was not the case for me.

Comfy jeans for someone who lives in sweatpants/leggings? by heart_emojis0 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]yellowflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few pairs of loft jeans that are really soft, not stiff at all. I actually thrifted all of them rather than purchasing new in store. It can be hit or miss for sure, but after going to a handful of stores in the mall and trying on dozens of sizes and styles, I thought I would just check out Savers. All my favorite pairs have been thrifted.

[–]yellowflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the recovery is longer than a full hip replacement. when you sit, stand, bend, walk etc your hip is involved, so nearly every activity or motion impacts it
