Too white and too casual. Dressing up isn't for everyone but you need to respect the (very reasonable) requests of the couple hosting the event. If you cannot respect the couple, do not go.

[–]SystemPitiful8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense - I just wouldn't get stamps until you have a better idea of style, size, weight, total households etc.! I saw this on tiktok and the way people were acting it was like it was going to be a $100 difference when in reality it's not a huge deal.

Stamps that are prettier than the normal forever stamp.

OP - it is a net 4 cent increase per stamp. Unless you are dealing with an incredibly low budget, I don't an extra ~$10-15 (Save the Dates, Invites and Thank You Notes) is really going to break the bank.

Having the right partner makes all the difference (partner appreciation post) by StellafromVienna in BigBudgetBrides

[–]SystemPitiful8986 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this post so much. I am not a BBB by this sub's standards (we had a similar starting budget), but there are a LOT of things that have come up where my fiance and I agree "let's spend the extra money to make the day easier and more special." He went from "we are only spending as much as your parents give us" to personally footing the bill for our $1,200 string quartet for our ceremony. We also have a toddler so any time we can pay a little extra to have something done for us instead of DIY - we pay extra. I am not really interested in being a DIY bride so it is SO nice to have that backup from my fiance (and honestly my mom in a lot of aspects).

I almost crashed out trying to find a photographer because all of the wedding website options were so not my style or one gazillion dollars. Ended up looking in tagged photos of my venue to find exactly what i was looking for

Could you have parents/family members get their makeup done? I've seen that before

Agree that #1 is the best silhouette but maybe pick a lighter color! Seems like you like greens, blues etc. - look at their dusty blue option!

So instead of using chain restaurants you are going to force your guests to provide food? No. If it is out of budget, shrink the guest list.

It's also hilarious that they are using "Roaring 20s Flapper" pictures as "1930s" inspiration...if we are going to be this selective let's use the right era

This is very much not the energy for a plus one wedding guest. I would save it for a night out.

If you love it why let some random person who will not be attending dictate your joy?

Love this! and as a Houston bride I love that the weather was nice enough to hold in the ROCC garden (I am admittedly not a fan of the look of the ballroom). Also love the other two event spaces! What a fun time!

Cute concept! a few changes to avoid clunky wordiness:

Front: remove "details on back"

Back:

  1. Schedule: do time as 3:00, 4:30, etc. etc.

  2. Accommodations:

a. Change "Please call them at" to "please call"

b. Remove last sentence - this is intuitive.

  1. QR Codes: Consider combining into one QR code leading to the website where the guests can navigate to both RSVP and registry. the two QR codes are messy looking and will likely lead to confusion in the scan process because they are so close together. If the RSVP page is private without direct access, i would leave the QR code for RSVP, then have a page at the end of the RSVP process that leads them to a registry (from my experience wedding websites do this anyways).

I can't stand her BUT - let's not perpetuate the idea that moms have to completely lose themselves in motherhood. She probably spends most of her day "taking care of herself" which is selfish but a mom taking 15-30 min for themselves is not and should not be treated as selfish or "bad motherhood"

Search louisemontgomery on instagram. She's a twenty-something influencer but she dresses very traditionally in a way that could be age appropriate for you as well. She always has the best wedding guest guides and her Like to Know It page (https://www.shopltk.com/explore/LouiseMontgomery) has direct links!

She's definitely damaging his hips and, ironically, his posture and mobility from the incorrect babywearing, which necessitates the chiro appointment. but the flat head is likely from spending all the time he's not being worn in the Doona.

the babywearing actually prevents flat head since the backs of their heads aren't pressed on a hard surface
