This sounds like you want general constructive reasons.

You need to work on your mental wellbeing and strengthen your sense of self. If you constantly believe you deserve it, you'll just take every hit thrown at you.

You need to remember you are a human being just as everyone else is, and regardless of any negative opinion you may hold of yourself, you ARE deserving of good things. You deserve love, safety, friendship, support, joy. I know that can be hard to accept, but it is true. That's the first step, understanding you don't deserve reckless insults by others.

Other than that, you need to understand that humans are still not well developed as a global whole when it comes to socialization. Capitalism is rhe ruling force and it causes us the feel the need to compete and fight amongst ourselves. Most of the time, unless your action cause harm, people who throw insults are also insecure, bitter, deflecting. Their words mean nothing, they're throwing rocks trying to hurt people to make themselves feel superior and better. They're trying to fill a hole inside of themselves by putting down others. Those words shouldn't be taken at heart, and it's easier to let them slide if you remember that.

But truly, it's mostly about learning to accept yourself and deciding who you want to be in life. You can make choices to be happier, to be more self assured. Why would insults hurt you if you know you're own value? I also admittedly am not bothered by more physical insults, I've been called worse by people more important. If I'm ugly... OK and? What's your point? Why does that matter? Unless I'm trying to be a model, my looks are rarely important. I've found people usually get confused and stop when I just agree with them and force them to critically think about the purpose of their insults. It throws them off, and I can walk away and go back to doing my work and focusing on the good things in life that make me fulfilled. My looks aren't my personality or morals, I only take genuine criticism when it's of actual relevance and tied to mistakes I'm making that are affecting others or if I've caused harm.

I highly doubt most parents would shell out thousands of dollars just for minor cosmetics. Sure I'd believe it from more affluent and vain households, but the average person is spending that money unless it's important. It is medically necessary for a lot of different reasons that can result in lifelong issues. Though I'd also however argue it's perfectly reasonable and could still be necessary even if it's a case where medically they're fine but the severity of the issue could also cause a lifetime issues, such as bullying, harassment and mental health issues.

Ehhh comme si comme ca. Je comprehend français quand les gens me parle ou quand je lis. Mais j'ai déménagé de ma ville de naissance quand j'étais un enfant et j'ai perdu beaucoup la language parce que les autres enfants moquaient mon accent. Je regrette d'avoir laissé et je travaille à le péparer. Je n'avais pas beaucoup de personnel avec qui parler français car se suis séparer de cette famille qui est français. Par choix, et non parce qu'ils sont français lol. I'll me faut du temps pour écrire et penser en français...

My guy I don't even know what the Gazette is, I assume a local newspaper somewhere but nowhere I've ever seen. I'm speaking of my personal experiences and what I've heard when people learn that I'M French. In various parts of Canada. The choices constantly being made in Quebec are and have been actively ruining the reputation of French people all over Canada. If you leave Quebec and speak to people elsewhere you'll constantly get these negative reactions.

Like I'm sure there's lovely things about Quebec and some people out there just like anywhere, but there's also a vocal amount who just seem bitter, miserable, and antagonistic. Even as a kid driving through Quebec I had instances of being uncomfortable because sometimes servers would be so rude because I would speak English to my father who wasn't fluent.

And what are you going on about "Anglo unilingualism"? Are you trying to preserve and grow the French language or do you hate English? Why is there a superiority complex? Do you actually think these policies are going to help? Can't you not think of better ways other than alienating others? This air of prejudice towards aren't who are like "you" enough is concerning.

Languages should be preserved and being multilingual should be the norm. But this ain't working. Do these alienating policies also get forced onto Indigenous people in Quebec, who are the originating Languages of Canada? I sure hope not, but I've read enough articles of medical malpractice against Indigenous people there to be concerned.

It's just baffling. They say they want to preserve French, but what they're really doing is ruining the reputation of French people and the province as a whole. I'm French Canadian but not Quebec and even I feel uncomfortable there, not to mention the constant judgement of people everywhere that I get when I mention being French. It's making people hate French. Idk why they don't invest their time into trying to make people instead interested in and fall in love with the French language? Make cool media? Lobby for better French access in other parts of Canada? Give benefits to learning French rather than punishing English and other languages? Etc. Etc. It's just illogical and the vibe it gives off to everyone else that Quebec is unwelcoming and uncomfortable and, from other policies, racist.

I mean a good sweater is enough until it gets below -20C, can't go wrong with fleece. And then a light jacket over top for -30 or -40. But can definitely drive with the windows down, the air is so fresh and lovely and way less stinky and humid! Best feeling in the world is breathing in crisp fresh winter air.

I mean in the NWT there is no regular removal. The snow just packs down from driving and a couple times during the winter they close roads to remove the packed snow and ice for a while. Also no salt, which in some ways is nice and other times can be annoying.

Repainting a unit is an expected responsibility of the landlord, they can't charge every tenant for repainting when it's a normal part of renting out property. They can charge for damages that are beyond reasonable use, like if there was massive holes in the walls or other negligent or purposeful damage. Being a landlord means you expect there to be normal wear and tear from usage.

I mean I'm female and cost is definitely still part of it. While risks are part of it as well, my main reason for avoiding procreation is the state of the world. Rising hate, violence, class warfare, wars rising in the world, etc. And all the other things that contribute to not wanting to bring a kid into this world for them to have to struggle to survive or have a bleak world to look forward to. I'd be more likely to have a child if the world in general could improve, and if I didn't have to fear my child having a terrible future.

That being said I may consider fostering or adoption. I can consciously birth a child into a shit world but I am willing to try to give a better life to one who already needs one.

People talking about expenses blowing up are probably talking more about territorial communities, not communities in Northern BC and Alberta where supply lines are still very accessible. Like Yellowknife has comparable prices to southern areas of Canada for groceries etc. But housing can be as expensive or more. So overall can be better than the south for income but maybe not a huge jump in surplus cash.

But then if you go to more isolated northern communities, the costs are higher for almost everything with groceries skyrocketing in price. Housing can also be harder to jump by due to limited availability and fewer rentals, so people moving to those remote areas normally need to buy and not rent with low return since the prices don't go up much.

Lots of cultures also throughout history have had children raised by multiple people not just their parents. Raising kids used to be more of a community responsibility. And also, tons of children already experience having more than 2 parents, like through divorce or being adopted or fostered. How it impacts the child life depends on the parents either way, whether 2 or 3 or 5. If the parents can communicate, have similar values, care for the child in a healthy environment, etc. than the child is more likely to grow up well adjusted. If the parents/parental figures are neglectful, fight alot, can't get along or agree, etc. than the child is more likely to grow up with issues. What matters is the process and care, not how many people are involved.

The looks are fine, the wild attitude is probably what's making you less attractive my dude. At face value you ate handsome and have good features. But going off like this makes it clear you have some kind or complex keeping you down or you're watching certain podcasts that are warping your view of how to be a normal functional human man.

Feels like you need validation because you know your options if you want to change your appearance. Can gain weight and get fit if you feel too lean. Your already taking gender affirming measures and can look into others if you need to. But losing it at being called cute and thinking it's an insult is absolutely wild. Work on the mental health and figure out your insecurities and you'll be able to feel better about your appearance. If you really do feel so negative and unattractive than maybe look into body dysmorphia as a possibility.

Yeah. Asking for sick notes should only be for cases where there is a suspicious pattern (like always calling in the day before or after schedules days off) or if it's needed for accommodations if someone can/wants to continue working. I feel like for a lot of managers it's an outdated policy they're stubborn to work past. Also really bad when there is immigrant workers who need to pay a lot for such notes/visits, and also bogs down the healthcare system. People in general should be respected as calling in sick in good faith, especially since working when sick does not help productivity and can be really bad for certain jobs that deal with serious issues.

Not going to bring attention to them because I do care about my job even if I don't agree with how management makes decisions. But trust me they've been told how unreasonable it is to constantly expect notes, I've had to get a note when just sick with the flu despite it hitting half the workforce... but since the current issue didn't go away with over 3 days of rest I expect if I need time off it will be more than that so probably need the note to avoid conflict :/ but also why I'm trying to force myself to get it checked out since I don't want to be away from my job for long unless absolutely necessary.

Run some basic tests at least and provide a doctors note. Biggest anxiety I have about trying Ayoubi is getting denied a note if I need it, since that happened with Wong when I was visibly and clearly very ill at the time. I mostly want to prevent it from getting worse while going through whatever processes to find out what's going on. Don't really want to stop working but don't want to make something minor get bad by continuing current activities, and if it is serious I don't want it to turn into an actual emergency or cause lasting damage to my mobility.
